Matt's not kidding...the first time I drove my car after the downpipe was on, it scared me...lol. The tires broke traction when the turbo spooled in second gear when the ground was damp.
And I bought it from a local Supra guy.
Find a diff from the same year and specs as your car (Turbo, LSD, 5-Spd)...otherwise it will drive differently, and you may not like it...lol.
There's always the option of having yours rebuilt if you can't find another one locally...IIRC Aaron @ driftmotion rebuilt one for about $145 in parts.
When you insert the paper clip into the two proper terminals, make sure the key is in the ON position, and count the blinks of the check engine light.

Yes, the clamps.
Oh, and I think my charcoal canister might be clogged...I smell gas around it (like the hose is leaking), and it seems like there is way too much pressure being released when I remove the gas cap.
The benefits of Seafoam are debatable.
Also, it's good to see that you are doing all of the maintenance items first, before performance. :bigthumb:
Make sure the car is mechanically sound, and there aren't any problems, then I would put an intake & exhaust on, maybe an MBC to turn up the boost...
Tonight I made a custom recirculation kit for my TurboXS BOV...:D It was just too abnoxiously loud with it venting to the atmosphere, and it would stall occasionally when coming to a stop, after I fixed a boost leak...:nono: The BOV is very close to silent now...
So here are some pics:
And...
The reason I ask about smoke...is because if you have a boost leak (which it sounds like you do)...the car will put out black smoke as you try to boost/accelerate...
