Check all the connections going to the coils...I would take each connector off and spray some contact cleaner/enhancer, and inspect the connections to make sure the pins are connecting properly...
Have the coil packs been tested as per TSRM?
I believe they are both high pressure zones.
I have an old japanese article where they use the HKS speed cut defenser on a white 87...and it hits around 150MPH...and you can literally see the front header panel lifting up two inches in the center from the pressure. :)

IIRC woven carbon fiber is just like cloth...It is covered with a resin like you would cover fiberglass with...and then it can be polished. :)

I just find ones that aren't cracked or peeling (though they are always faded pretty badly) and polish them until they look new. :)

The coil pack sits on top of the valve covers, all of the spark plug wires plug into it. The coil pack doesn't need to be "aligned", it just has connectors going to it...
