I would either rebuild your 7M-GE, so you'll have an entirely new motor...or get a low-mileage 7M-GE, and drop that in...
I think the 2JZ isn't worth swapping in unless it's Twin turbo.
Maybe you need a new gas cap? The rubber seal could be bad...
Or could it possibly be fumes from remnants of gas that splashed around the filler when you were filling up?
That sucks!!! :(
Just take step back and let it sit for a while...Another rebuild (if it even needs it) is just a drop in the bucket compared to what you have already spent on the car.
