AGlobalThreat got his Supra down to 3000 lbs. His dash is completely hallow, along with everything else that he can. The interior weighs about 200 lbs, but don't remove it because then the car looks like a track car (trust me, I've done it). As they said, replace parts like the driveshaft...

I'd go with the aluminum. They are good to 400ish HP.

I know a few people that would let me borrow their hoist. I can't really do any work until my arm is out of my sling (3rd dislocated shoulder surgery a month ago). I estimate this project will take atleast a week to complete due to how much work is involved. The interior will take me a couple...
Thanks. I'm doing the motor swap starting about the 1st. Only hinderance is getting an engine hoist so I can pull the motor and tranny in the parking lot, unless I'm willing to do it at the hobby shop which is an option now that I think of it. I'm already starting my tinkering. I took off...
PIMP My Ride did a an old school Chevelle with turbo Duramax deisel motor with Alison tranny that has something like 1400 HP and 800 Ft. Lbs. of torque. It beat a Lambo at the 1/4 mile track on 20's. It was awesome. But as TOMA70E said, the motor and tranny are both rather large, even for a...
If you're smart you will put your wires inside loon wrap, the heat protection stuff. That'll solve those issues easily and cheaply without added squat for weight.

I'm looking forward to tucking all my wires and stuff. After I do that, I'm going to weld up any of the unneccessary divets/holes in my engine bay. The battery is getting relocated, but eventually it will get relocated so that it's almost impossible to find, all I have to do is a little...
Poodles has it correct, I'm swapping all the stuff I want from my 90 and 88 into my 87. The 90 already has a 1JZ with R154. And the 87 still has the stock sub frame. I'm want to back date my 90 because I will need to put a sub frame back into it once I remove the stock one so that it can...
Do you mean that on my 90 with the 87 crossmember I'll have to make sure to put pre 89 motormounts on it? Or that I'll have to put 89+ motormounts in the 87 so that a motor can be dropped in easily? I don't think I'm following you completely Robert.

Will the front sub-frame out of a N/A 87 fit into a turbo 90? I know the 89+ will fit into a pre 89, but I just want to double check that the reverse is also true before I start swapping out front sub-frames.
Adam
I am putting the wheels from my 90 onto my 87, although I'm not sure if I really want to put the 89+ bumper and wing on my 87, mainly due to the fact that it would be several months before they would get painted to match the rest of the car. I have thought about it though.
