sounds like you need a new mechanic! Either he was smoking something when he removed the old one, or you welded you disc to the flywheel. Either way, he should be able to figure it out. I've never seen a clutch system that worked on a pressure plate alone.

That 7M BHG Reputation is a bitch isn't it! Why does everyone run scared at the first sign of any trouble whatsoever? However, if all you did to a rod knock motor was swap the bearings, I would not doubt BHG. It obviously wasn't a well taken care of motor at that point.

It sounds stupid, but beating the fire with your shirt would work better than water. Water only spreads gasoline. I always think about the shirt thing when my fire is out.
