Tooqwik has done an ignition upgrade, but you'd have to search to find it. Try looking at all threads started by him. That would be fun just to look at the pictures you could find in that search.
Looks like any chance to dyno is out. With the advice given here, it looks like I have more work than I can handle in a couple of hours. It's still raining and in the mid 30's thank God, or I'd be out there doing my best to fix it all.
THANKS for all of your help!
Any other suggestions are...
It would be a damn shame Noah if you don't take your car. It has been a goal of mine since you came to Mobile to call you out when my car is finally finished. I know paper horsepower means nothing, but my hopes are that I'm real close to the power you have.
Thanks for the quick reply! Happy birthday yourself. BTW don't sweat the age thing too much. I'm 2 years older than you.
Should I worry about the 2 gauges for the dyno tomorrow? I really want this car tuned and a little more driveable. I can get some aftermarket gauges this week sometime...
sounds like you need a new mechanic! Either he was smoking something when he removed the old one, or you welded you disc to the flywheel. Either way, he should be able to figure it out. I've never seen a clutch system that worked on a pressure plate alone.
OK, I have an appointment to get my car tuned tomorrow (1/26) morning. But my car still has several issues, and work has kept me away from working on it this week to be ready. I'm gonna list the problems. Please let me know if they should stop tuning, and let me know how I can fix it. I will be...
That 7M BHG Reputation is a bitch isn't it! Why does everyone run scared at the first sign of any trouble whatsoever?
However, if all you did to a rod knock motor was swap the bearings, I would not doubt BHG. It obviously wasn't a well taken care of motor at that point.
Here's what happened CK. You ordered the part from the saleman at the company, and he printed the ticket for your parts. The shipping guy typed YOUR address, using zip code only, and his UPS machine auto looks up city and state. Rarely does he check to see if it got the right ones. If he did...
Thanks...........Now I have to go change my pants!
Awesome job Sean. Not only does it run Super Sweet, but it looks the part as well. That exhaust sounds SOOOOOOO nice!
Vonda's too sweet to say it like she really means it. She meant.......This is my thread damnit, y'all shut up about my husbands inequity's, and start talking about my awesome car again.
Post pictures of small parts V, and it'll change to bitching about why you aren't doing more yet.
It sounds stupid, but beating the fire with your shirt would work better than water. Water only spreads gasoline. I always think about the shirt thing when my fire is out. A fire extinguisher is a mod that not many of us shadetree (yes, me included) mechanics think about in the whole build process.
Wow, I can't believe this thread went so long without Randy! Who else obvious have we forgotten?
*******Edit******* UUmmmmmmm...................Eddie Van Halen!
