Has anybody wired accessory switches onto an aftermarket steeringwheel?
(brittania in this case, but I think it would apply to any aftermarket wheel)
I have a momentary switch mounted on the steering wheel that I like, but right now I'm using an external coil wound wire (similar to what you...
I think I will start planning for this.
What do you guys think 2to1 or 1.5to1? I'm just wondering if 1.5to1 is gonna be enough of a difference to justify this mod, or will I wish I had gone 2to1?
:dunno:
That my friend is a parts car...period. More trouble than it would ever be worth to fix it, and guess what?...it'll never drive right.
But, it looks like it has some pretty cherry parts on it, and that alone makes it worth having!
So I'd say to beat the shit out of the owner for price...
:icon_conf Sorry IJ. My bad. But if you do know anything about the quick steer or the like, I'd love to hear your opinion on this.
It was Jeff who posted that he had at least some familiarity with the quick steer. Was hoping to get some detail on what he thought about it (ratio that...
Are we sure about this??
Seriously, I know it's 2to1 ratio over stock, but does that necessarily mean that it's going to be twice as much effort to turn the steering wheel?
I would be greatly surprised if thee were not other variables that come into play on this.
IJ: When you drove...
2 to 1 wouldn't help as much as I think??? The steering wheel would take half as many turns lock to lock. Am I missing some detail here?
Also, I don't think it would affect the p/steering to the point where it would be difficult to turn the wheel. Possibly it may be a little harder to turn...
Really?
I clicked on the link and it had a picture of older style tailights and stated $1925.00 for 86-88 tails and that 89+ were not yet available.
That's what I saw. Maybe there is a newer link?
Still too much $$$.

Man...you got that right!
I'm in California and my local dealership who will remain nameless (Thousand Oaks Toyota) wacks me for full boat on everything. These guys won't even try to "source" a hard to find or not readily available part. They're standard reply is something like "don't know...
Here's another little thing to consider...
If you are driving on anything but dry pavement, wheel hop will be the least of your concern!
If it gets wet out and you are unfortunate enough to be on the road, chances are you'll be facing oncoming (head-on) traffic in short order.
Drift or...

Jesus H. Keeerist! That is a ton of dough for a lighting upgrade, and I see that's just the earlier lenses.
What do you think they'll ask for 89+ tails??? Maybe, oh I dunno...$2925.00??? :3d_frown: PASS!!!
Yikes.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I think they look awesome!
Can you take pictures of the inside of the lens so we can see how you are attaching them to the lens???
I especially like the first mock-up with the led's running through the center section. It really updates the look of...
Even if the TPS checks out off the car, it doesn't necessarily mean it's good.
A bad TPS has a tendency to work ok untill they get hot from the engine heat, and then go haywire.
Test it on the car with the engine at running temp.
But it would be a good, cheap alternative to a "no power" na set-up.
I wish I knew someone who had done this to hear how it worked out. (I have a 7mge on an engine stand gathering dust as well as a stock turbo, intake and exhaust).
I modified the cupholder from a later model to fit my 87. It's been awhile but as I recall it was a matter of flipping over the cupholder and putting it on upside down inside the consloe so you could close the armrest.
If you want I'll take a pic of it so you can figure it out.
