Yeah I know I said it might last a little longer. Looks like he didn't change the oil like somebody told him. So I guess it might last a little less longer:nono:
Yeah wayyyy too much. It cost me $80.00 to have 2" welded on my pan and pickup and the dams put in. Just haven"t got to the track to try it out. Thanks
Yeah maybe he got lucky and it might last a little while longer if it checks out, but I would also be checking my other choises(rebuild, JDM,etc.) to see what way I could afford, and what I want the car for(ie. transportation, project car, etc)
The sub frame brace, is that the bar that goes accross? If that is yes I've always taken that out anytime I've pulled the motor. Maybe it just looks to me very wide and I thought that there might be some prob. side to side maybe with headers or something on the other side. Thanks
You can get a Recal done by Jet Chip. I did a while back. You order the "kit" they send you a box to ship your ECU back to them They recalabrate it and ship it back. They change the fuel curve so they say. Can't say that I noticed that much of a difference. I changed to an Apexi, and that gives...
Just was looking at your build pics. Man I thought I went through a lot building mine!!!Does it ever stop or are you like me you can always find something else you want to do with it. Hey 12 cylinder:naughty:No really looks really good IJ. Bet its fun to drive. Wow what a lot of work and money.
Ahh well, I had a prob. with rod bearings going out with hard cornering and braking, starving the pickup I think. I had 2" welded to the oil pan and pickup with a couple of dams to keep oil to the pickup, but haven't been able to get back on the track to see it it corrected the prob.. Seemed...
I see some of you guys have these. I can't find were you got them or what you paid for them? Also any clearance problems, and by how much did it increase capacity?
Why do you want to swap to a turbo right away before you even have the car? You say you're in college? Must have deep pockets. Anything wrong with the NA?
You've got to watch your gauges thats what they are there for. When its running OK you check em, then you know if temp, oil press.,amps, etc. changes there is something wrong. Temp gauge pegged, something seriously wrong.DO NOT DRIVE:nono: TOW
Check the metal pipe that goes around the head to the drivers side . The heater hose goes into the top of the head at the rear, is it OK? If it's a NA there is a rubber cap header side that can split with age.
I bought a fill tube that screws on top of the quart container with a piece of clear hose on it. It makes it so you can squeeze the bottle to squirt the fluid into fill hole. Works pretty good.
Have them check the block to se if it can be salvaged, score a lot of the times can be bored out as long as everything else checks out, then pick up a head. I'd fix it sounds like the rest of the car is OK. Make her bigger and better.
A really long extension with a swivel on the end. That's what I used to do a clutch. Be careful though it has a tendency to slip off the bolt and you may booger up the bolt or your knuckels.
