How long did you let the oil settle into the pan before your first test? Perhaps you weren't a quart low. Regardless, a little over full is not going to hurt anything. Sorry, those both seem pretty obvious. But, neither have been mentioned thus far.

My Hose Techniques Silicone hose kit came with a huge bag of small cable ties. I used quite a few, and had probably 100 left. Your post makes me believe that I may need to use a few more of them.

Are you considering dyno'ing with BHG????????? I wouldn't advise it. Coolant on bearings doesn't really do any good. You may cost yourself extra machining, and head warpage if you let it heat up enough. The dyno is very rough on a good car.
