Or an electric chop saw.
The hack saw usually ends up fraying it all to hell.
Nate: This isn't the easiest thing in the world to do... you will have to wiggle the fitting up over the hose with some effort.
To answer your question(s).
-Get the turbo, if you like lag and a blown motor (if your motor is stock and high mileage)
-The external wastegate works like a bov, but only it controlls the exhaust. The more exhaust the turbo sees, the more boost. The less exhaust, the less boost.
Please...
IT won't even click if its the security system.
Its the signal wire being loose. I know, I have the same problem as thousands of other mk3 owners out there. Put a new connecter on the signal wire or wiggle the signal wire and try turning the key.
The only BALL BEARING ct 26's are the ones Im making.
Its a floater beraing. A little side to side play is ok. When I mean a little, Im taking 1 POSSIBLY 2 thousandths IF THAT.
BTW sounds to me like he ripped you off. Car for a stock ct26?
Oh shoosh old man. I drove an old Sprite or was it a TVR I dunno... double clutch the thing and rev match the whole time got real old.
But back to the grinding... yes you need to shift into another gear before reverse.
Yup really. Old racer's trick from way back in the day...
Also, are you going to have the processes done in that order to the crank?
(I would hope not)
Hey before you get all worried and freakn out... just a thought that is some what easy to do.
Take the cam covers off.
Inspec the cams for any pucks being spit.
If there aren't any, check to make sure no retainers came off the springs.
Last, empty the oil and check to make sure there...
Quick question about the 240.
How did you get the oil from the turbo back into the engine?
Did you put a fitting in the pan or is there a secret on the block somewhere?
BTW, welcome to the club, glad to have you on board!
I know this is the least of your worries right now, but are you running a stock exhaust mani?
Reason asking is your intake hose looks way long. My intake hose is just a 45 deg bend about 6" (if that) long.
Yours looks to be around a foot or so. How did you do that?
