FWIW, I've got a 62-1. I have a little compressor surge, and I'm assuming it's been run this way the whole time it's been in use. It's been at 15PSI for at least a thousand miles, still no shaft play.
I really can't see any damn reason to do this on anything that has room for a front mount. This even seems dumb for a 240. I could POSSIBLY see it in an RX7, but even then I'd rather have it up front, as far away from the engine as possible.
There are little plugs in the spark plug valley. Pull the cover off (4 14mm hex bolts IIRC) and clean it out, then you'll see them. Impossible to miss them
You can't feel them accelerate at all. I was in a lightly modded one and I didn't even notice him floor it. The kid also got like 15MPG mixed... My friend gets better than that in his 5.7l Camaro.
