Rich, I may be going in the wrong direction but the same thing happend to a customer of mine that had a fairly new WRX. It only had 20-30,000 miles on it, and we were all convinced it had RK. Turns out that what we were hearing was a broken throw out bearing. DOH!

No no... use them and oil them with wd every time you use them. If you don't use them, you loose them.

Ok found out this guy is from NY and the car is a 89+ with a 1jz. Surely it has to be some one here on the forums....

The hx uses a bolt on rear housing and the hy uses a clamp style rear housing. The hy spools a little faster.

It can be repaired and should! Keep shopping around....

What do you expect comming on here asking a bozo off the wall question without searching?
