I have about the same exact requirements for wheels and am planning on a set of 5zigen fno1r-cs someday when I have enough money to not mind dropping a bunch on a set of wheels =) They have bronze and black w/polished lip and are reasonably priced and very lightweight. 5-spoke and come in good...
I wish I had one that nice looking... Looks like you need quite a bit under the hood though. Its hard to tell from pictures, but if I were you I'd definitely get a new CPS, TPS, ISC, funky theromostat housing plug thing for the charcoal canister, a whole bunch of gaskets/hoses... and more. You...
My Dad just picked up an SC400 in pretty good condition with 60k on a new engine and high 100ks on the chassis for $4200. We had to put about about $900 into it to get it back to good condition but that's a whole lot less than MKIV N/As are going for around here if you can even find them.
O_o aren't wire nuts those little superglue cap looking things that you twist around two wires? That's pretty extreme. When you're done radiating I think we'd all like to see pictures of your new VW =)
I don't remember if mine was really tight but it was a normal thread. You're talking about the line with the weird block with 2 banjo bolts on it right?
They look pretty nice. I usually don't like anything other than 5-spoke designs but I wouldn't object to having a set of those. I like the curvy-ness too, if Project N00b means the way the spokes curve in. I think they're called concave spokes or something on FN01Rs...
In America at least, the price of a V8 soarer is a lot lower than a N/A MKIV simply because it's a V8 and the name isn't as well-known. Stock to stock I'd actually prefer the SC400 to a N/A MKIV, they're nicer inside and I think it's actually faster too. I'd try not to get an air suspension one...
Yeah, after running an open downpipe just for a few minutes going up and down the block I don't think I'd like a cutout. Even with a full exhaust my shifter area gets uncomfortably hot =\ But I'm missing the rubber boots around the trans tunnel opening.
Wow! I've been waiting to see this finished since I found Supramania and I don't think I'm going to be disappointed. In some of the pictures the paint reminds me of the delicious looking color of the red Toyota coolant =D
