I love my mossberg 590. It's easier to load than the 870 because the carrier/elevator rides in the 'up' position up against he bolt, so you don't have to deflect it by hand when you load a shell.
The slide/bolt release is also easier to work on the Mossbergs vs the Remington.

The carbine does fire a hopped-up pistol cartridge, but it isn't a bad gun. Great fun to shoot, simple and light. Great for beginners or people who aren't into recoil.
