Okay... vids will come afterwards, but basically we took her out for her first drive in 1.5 years, only to get a clunking sound from underneath the car. When we lifted her up and looked underneath with the driveshaft spinning, we could see that the shaft was not balanced and rattling against the...
Hence why I said ANYTHING serious. If you're not racing or Autocrossing, cheap wheels are okay. Aesthetically, they look just as good as expensive hi-performance wheels, and will last a long time if not abused too badly. But if you plan on more serious racing endeavours with your Supe, best get...
Uhhhh....
I think I made my point. Don't cheap out if you plan on doing ANYTHING serious with your wheels/tires. Imagine if this stuff happened at high speeds.
Good job! I didn't know TEMS wasn't an option on European Supras, that's excellent info.
As far as wiring TEMS direct on a non-TEMS car, you've definitely exceeded my skill on that. I never did find any direct wiring diagrams for the HKS unit beyond what we already had from the instructions, so...
Supras are an evil, horrible addiction that should be erradicated from the earth....

Waitaminit... ohh... I thought we were talking about HONDAS.....
My bad.
A guy on ebay UK makes them from fiberglass molds. They were originally Japanese louvers that are no longer in production, so he got a set, made a mold, and sells them occasionally on eBay UK out of London. Factoring in shipping from England makes them somewhat expensive, but I get lots of looks...
Worked on vacuum hoses, PS lines, and coolant lines, found a few of the older lines that had not been buttoned up yet, causing a few leaks. Capped those off and ran the engine for a bit to test out the fans, RPM gauge didn't react. Will need to troubleshoot that some more when we work on the...
I had the same thing happen with my car. Pulled the intercooler pipes and downpipe to the turbo, oil on both sides. A 57trim DM turbo later and the problem stopped.
My vote as well.
When I start mine up I only give it 1 minute to warm up, then I drive "casual" until I feel she is ready. Then on open multi-lane highways I open her up and let her stretch her legs out. You can pretty much tell when your turbo'ed car WANTS to play hard, like quick acceleration, holding her back...
Okay. At this stage of my build I am looking at getting a BBK to compensate for my 2JZ engine, which will require 18" wheels to fit them. I see that 18x8.5 offset +35 and 18x9.5 offset +35 are a standard, but I am also running Tokico Illumina IIs and Eibach Pro springs on top of all this...
