What did you do to your supra today? Pics

With the wiring harness completed, belts added, and everything tightened up, tomorrow we'll be dropping the 2JZ back into the engine bay for hopefully the last time, connecting everything up, and starting her up. Some pics when we were doing the test fit... SOON.

The TEMS System and HKS EAC-T Bible

Exactly. It should still be selectable, you'd just lose the automatic functions when the car pitches and yaws. Since this has become a really-expensive item, you're thinking of doing something I wouldn't even attempt on a good day. Best of luck and post up the results!

The TEMS System and HKS EAC-T Bible

Never had to do this, and I've not heard anyone else having to do it. Would be interesting to see what you come up with. It's possible. As I said in my earlier post, I don't know what the effect would be after swapping the engine, but I would suspect it won't AUTOMATICALLY switch over based on...

How much have you spent on your MkIII

I'm up to $6k on the 2JZ rebuild ALONE, and that's with another wiring harness which I had to pick up due to issues with the last one. I won't even go into the stuff I did with the 7M beforehand, which I only got $650 for when I sold the engine/tranny combo.

Drop that batt in the spare tire wheelwell, mount it in a sturdy tray or batt box, run wiring and a fuse to it, and call it an afternoon. Just for kicks, throw a kill/safety switch back there for drag/race/auto-X rules if you wish. IC piping will no longer be restricted that way, it will tidy up...

Shipping weight of a 7M-GTE with auto tranny and intercooler?

For those that have shipped a 7M before, what is the average weight of that engine including transmission and intercooler? I have no clue and am getting asked this question now as I have offered to ship mine away if the seller covers the cost.

An incredible website - TOYOTA RUSSIA!!!

Found this on CelicaSupra.com and felt it needed to be posted here as well. It may need to be moved to another section of this forum, not sure if it should be here. Talk about vintage goodness!!! http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.autowp.ru%2Ftoyota%2F...

What we did today... Made an electric fan shroud for the Mishi rad... Reinstalled the Mishi rad with fans and began work on the intake piping... View of the setup now (new piping not shown)...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Picking up the '88 Supra FSM from a gentleman in MD. He is shipping it to me and showing extraordinary trust, so I'm posting this blurb to help allay any worries he might have about dealing with me in this manner.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Pulled out the old intercooler and put in a Mishimoto one. Also ran new welded pipes to the turbo. The 2JZ IC also has an outlet to run pipes to the throttle body on the other side of the 2J.

    2JZ-GTE swap - getting ready

The harness was sent away long before we started tearing into the engine, so it should be done (the harness) this week hopefully.

    2JZ-GTE swap - getting ready

Well, anyone following my build thread will see I finally bowed down to reason and went with a 2JZ. Now, here's what I've picked up so far... 63mm single turbo 2JZ single turbo manifold external wastegate SSQV BOV...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Feels good, don't it? Now do the back glass ones and you'll almost get the sense you have a new car... :biglaugh: I thought I died and gone to heaven when I did mine last year. Ohh, today I got signed onto my new Amsoil account and will be getting about 2gal. for my 2JZ build. Feels...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Installed new oil pan on 2JZ, took pics of bottom end of motor for cleanliness check... Pretty. Then moved it into the bay to test fit the motor to the new mounts and setup for fabbing the new crossmember and piping needed to make this all work. Not very good cellphone pics...

    The Mistress

Hey Grimjack, did you heat wrap your exhaust mani or downpipe? I'm getting ready to drop my 2J in the engine bay (single turbo with heat blanket) and want to know if either is necessary.

7M to 2JZ swapout - What functionality do I lose?

Makes sense. When I wrote the TEMS/EAC-T Bible a while ago my assumption was that the sensors were part of the block, NOT the harness. Now that I know that, I won't lose the auto functionality. Just learned something new. So, next question (for updating my EAC-T thread anyway...) is: Do all the...

7M to 2JZ swapout - What functionality do I lose?

Okay. my 7M is pulled out and we will be preparing to drop in a 2JZ (automatic to automatic). These are the current options I have questions about... 1: Overdrive button on Automatic Transmission Lever. 2: ECT power button. 3: TEMS system. I am assuming the TEMS system will still work...

Seriously done with the *&^$@# car!

I tell ya OP, you have to love a Supra to keep with it. When I first got mine in '09, the guy said I'll love this car, but it did have a "tendency" to run through a little coolant and oil. No kidding. REALLY?!?! After a week of running around town I checked fluids in her and the rad was...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

That hose is the biggest pain in the rear to get to, much less replace. I had to do mine as well, went ahead and changed the fitting that it goes into from the front since it was near corroded apart. If you haven't done it already, also replace the 90deg. hose in the back of the engine as well...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Actually, that website in your thread "SuperBrightLEDs" lists lots of WLED bulbs for that #194 bulb, and since I don't have my dash torn apart I can't tell which one to buy. I also can't really tell from your diagram which one it is, do you have the actual WLED part number I can use to order it...
