They look much better in black with the sunvisor though. Here are some pics of a Euro guy that had them on his (think his name was "Ozzsupra" or something like that...). It's where I got the idea to get them....
I just found a pic of rear AND side louvers from another member's Supra...
Don't think white is a good color for them though... I would've kept them black.
It IS.... and it isn't. Exactly....
The bumpers are actually faded badly which tends to throw people off on the rest of the color. The paint used in the louvers is actually NAPA based with the true matching color code of the Supra for that year, BUT there is a large amount of METAL FLAKE in it...
Replaced my Eclipse headunit for a Pioneer AVIC Double-DIN Navi/DVD/CD/Bluetooth radio. More bells and whistles than I can shake a stick at, and eliminates a few problems I had with gauge placement earlier.
I was under the impression that the front nose, rear tails, and fender flares were all altered in '89, which was why they were commonly referred to as "widebody" Supras.
Am I wrong on this?
'86~'88:
'89 +:
It looks to me like they are wider...
That's true, but the combination of 16x8 wheels PLUS the skinnier fenders found on 86~88 Supras (89+ are much wider...) adds to the dilemma.
I have 215/45 r16 tires coming that will hopefully correct the problem. If not then I'll be in the market for 2 16x7 wheels to trade for my 8's.
Bye bye, sawblades...
Another set of tires (215/45 r16s) coming, will help reduce or stop the rubbing I'm getting now.
Also... ordered 2JZ... No Shiiiiii......
Question: I posted this in the Wheel/Tire thread but since several of you are running the same config I figured I'd ask here as well.
I'm running 225/50r16 Sumitomo's on 16x7 (front) and 16x8 (rear) and am getting rubbing in the rear on road bumps, on a dig, and in corners. I'm using the...
I did some researching and can't find the answers I'm looking for. I picked up a set of Starion wheels in 16x7 and 16x8 (factory offset, I guess...) and have my 225/50r16 Sumitomo's mounted on them. I have the 7's on the front and 8's on the back and they rub (ONLY IN THE BACK SO FAR...) when...
The reason why silver is so popular is that silver is the new "white".
What I mean is the automotive companies decided to switch their baseline "vanilla" color with something much more attractive than white, since white was so easy to dirty up. Since the chromatic colors (red, green, blue...
