The offickial Toyota standard for a pull up parking brake is 5-8 clicks. Pull out, such as on Tacomas is more. I don't remember the exact number, but something like 10-15.
There is a reason that DIS has replaced DLI. It has to do with coil saturation and long life. There is still a piece connecting the coil to the plug on a DIS. I am not trying to talk you out trying it, just wondering.
I just like the mod he came up with.
I am going to back up a little bit. Studs are not easier to use and take the head on and off. I don't remember who said it, but it wasn't somebody who has done head work. It doesn't have to be a Supra to know that. Studs can be a pain. But they are better as already noted.
No matter what...
I don't see illumination for climate control. But based on your description, you probably have a bad ground. Have you even looked at it yourself yet? They could have common power, and the switch is the ground also. With a stereo theft, he could have done you in that way. Why did you not take it...
How typical. I feel for you.
Typical in just like some of the other BS the posters make. Especiall the ones where "their mechanic" told them something, and they question it. When I am thinking to myself, their is no way he said that. This is a common, ongoing problem.
IBTL.

I have read some comments from good people that you can't go past 600 rwhp on the 7M head with out nitrous. While I agree that it isn't a bolt on affair, this shows how just how good the head can be.
The stock cooling system is designed to deal with the stock characteristics of the engine.
If the engine has problems, the cooling system will not completely do its job.
