It can make 400 rwhp on a carburetor and not run and idle real well. The meter does not go there, and the person that put it there should'nt be around vehicles. Well, he can monkey with his own. He shouldn't tell anybody he knows what he is doing.
If you are so impatient, why didn't you just do the jump test in the diagnostic connector? Then you would be several days back and already have an answer. Just a thought for you.
Unplug the range selector switch. That is the harness on the side that has a position arm. Do not touch the arm, just unplug the harness. Then drive it and come back with how it drives.
You said you had water all over the passenger side of the windshield. That is not indicative of a blown head gasket. Did you describe your problem wrong?
Let me repeat. If you don't have a noticable misfire, it is unlikely you have a large volume of coolant in the combustion chamber. You will have to find what is getting in the exhaust.
I have a Matco funnel for convience. There is nothing special you need to do. Others prop up the front of the car to get the air out. Do you not have a pressure tester? Or you do, and that is why you say you can not build pressure. If you do not build pressure, maybe the problem is the adapter...
If you were just rich, your smoke would be blacker. Unburned fuel is like that, not just a rich mixture. Or a lot of water is getting in upstream of the cat. And then there is the oil part.
