He has a mechanical problem with his engine. A retest of compession and a vacuum test would do him some good. I wouldn't be suprsised if he had a huge vacuum leak like you suggest, saw it, put the hose back, and now drives ok to him. So he hasn't been back. That wouldn't suprise me...
Irrelevant. It could have a carburetor and still push air. You need the right exhaust A/R and a bigger engine to get them up to speed quick. The right A/R will also choke it off at higher engine speed.
I am not sure if your fuel pump runs properly anymore. Clarify your problems. Does the pump run all the time as you indicate here? Or you making the statement that the pump doesn't run when the engine is off.
That is normal. You should not have the pump on with the key on engine off. The...
I said an electronically controlled transmsission will not last long if it is for the GE and used on the GTE engine. The control units are not the same, but they should both work. Speed and gearing are figured into the programming, and that is what is different. The control protocol is the same...
Your guage reading would probably not be where it is if the thermostat wasn't open. Yours is hardly outside the realm of normal. Also, the ECU and guage are different sensors. But, always check, you never know.
Check for spark when it doesn't start. When you see it spark, then it that should tell you that the circuit from the ignitor to the ECU (IGf) is not complete.
That was actually a snide comment on the JZ infallibility myth. I will be watching to see what you find on the leak. :)
I have seen that. And he was a really good tech. Those things happen.
