I agree. My car's still got the 15w-50 from the previous owner, and the oil pressure is stupidly high when cold. "Thick" oils are now obselete in my opinion. I'll be going much thinner real soon.

I use conventional oil in my Mk2, but synthetic in my Mk3 because it carbonizes less (turbo coking, etc.) The fuel product is supposed to make fuel burn cleaner so perhaps that is a contributing factor to why that customer's oil was clean after 8k.

Great story. It's really big in the Kelowna area. I also push my oil changes to 7 or 8000 in my Mk2. Maybe it's the lower operating temps that reduce carbon formation? Not sure, but mechanics I know say that engines are very clean after using the product.

My setup is very similar, and it loves 15 psi. Occasionaly spikes to 17 or 18 but doesn't seem to make any difference or pinging. I am running 94 octane though.

I'm going to use SEM brand sprays, after I've heard people are getting good results and adhesion. Be sure to buy the neccessdary preperation products too. I think they have separate paints for vinyl, plastic, and leather.

Fender flares look good on some cars, but not the Mk3 IMHO. I'm going widebody to keep the look clean
