Project Cherry Widebody, finished! (New pics on post #451 and #511)

I bought my kit off eBay for $549. It is either a top-notch knock-off of the GT Factory kit (which was $1000 at the time) http://www.gtfactory.jp/diablo.htm or it is the identical kit without the brand name. These must be welded with lots of reinforcement to the sheetmetal.

Modding 89+ Tail light center to light up?

So Borhor, did you end up getting the center lens off your JDM set? Did it have paint on the back or was it clear? I'm currently looking into making LED tails and was wondering if it was worth the trouble to light up the center lens while I'm at it. Below are some rough photoshop images of...

LED tail light conversion, clearcorners.com style. Ideas on how to?

Will it look blurry if I leave the diffuser in? I'm leaning towards cutting the back housings open to do the retrofit. I don't want to have to worry about water getting inside later if I separate the housings via heat. I can also remove the diffusers this way too.

LED tail light conversion, clearcorners.com style. Ideas on how to?

Maybe you're right! That way, burnt out LED's could be replaced later on. It would be tricky, but not impossible. Looking at my tail now, I might even use a dremel to cut away all the black plastic close to where the gasket seals and that would really open up the back and make it easy to rig up...

LED tail light conversion, clearcorners.com style. Ideas on how to?

Thanks for the link! All the info I need is there. I'm now considering using the popular new Superflux LED's spaced further apart. I'm beginning to think it looks a bit more modern, what do you guys think? (Example pics below) I've got a spare cracked tail that I will try to separate using...

    Milo's Booster Seat...

Although built well, the A-1 arms are apparently a massive pain when it comes to alignment time. For each adjustment, the car must tbe jacked up, and the rod unbolted to rotate it, then reattach, and check camber, repeating endlessly until you get it right! I've taken Randy at BIC...

Project Cherry Widebody, finished! (New pics on post #451 and #511)

Thanks for the tips on the brake fluid guys! I will definately be exchanging my Dot 5 in for some Dot 5.1 (or Super Dot 4) which is non-silicone based. Most definately that ATE Super Blue, it's 1/2 the price of Motul 5.1! I'll be sure to report if it reduces my brake fade under heavy use.

Project Cherry Widebody, finished! (New pics on post #451 and #511)

The tires will fit the rims very well. The rear tires will be totally flush with the lip of the rim, and the fronts will stretch maybe 1/4" inward. Anything bigger would have created a bulge in the rear (more american looking and less JDM tyte) and the fronts even at 245 are really going to...

Project Cherry Widebody, finished! (New pics on post #451 and #511)

Phat rubber arrived along with custom seats by Leatherseats.com: graphite grey with cranberry suede leather inserts and "Supra" embroidered headrests. Dot 5 racing brake fluid shown also. Due to sizing issues with the Falkens, I went with BF Goodrich top of the line model KD's, 245/40/18 fronts...

12v Optima red top battery in Toyota Supra Turbo/good or bad??

I didn't realize this was a common issue. Mine does the exact same thing and I was not sure if it was a faulty battery or a slow drain somewhere.

LED tail light conversion, clearcorners.com style. Ideas on how to?

That's cool. Where's a good place to get prototyping board? I wonder how one might go about wiring a circuit to have the same led's get half voltage for dirving lights, and full voltage for braking?

LED tail light conversion, clearcorners.com style. Ideas on how to?

I'm really liking the way clearcorners.com has done their LED conversion(pics below). Any ideas on the best way to go about building something like this? I haven't had much luck finding suitable parts other than here: http://www.custom-led.com/ I know the lens must be heated to dissasemble...
