About to put a 7MGTE in my 87' Need Suggestions to Keep it Reliable

It would be an interesting test; Create a hood-mounted access cap for everything under the hood- oil cap, dipstick, coolant, washer fluid, brake fluid- and see how long a Supra could go without opening the hood. Probably a bit longer than allowing the average owner to poke around in there... :)

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Lately I've been just putting out small fires around the motor, so to speak. Finally fitted the tps to my throttle body, and adjusted it to spec. ALOT easier when it's off the car. You know that nasty, pointless, "put-a-rubber-cap-on-me-and-i'll-blow-it-off-when-you-least-expect-it" coolant...

About to put a 7MGTE in my 87' Need Suggestions to Keep it Reliable

Keep a 1/2 to 1qt. of oil in the engine, above the full line. Avoids rodknock from oil starvation during turns, acceleration and braking. For a low power goal(<350hp), a felpro/oem headgasket is fine, with some ARP's. While the engine is in the shop, have them resize the rods to reduce the...

    Sway Bar End Link Differences

The only thing I can contribute is that front and rear shaft sizes are the same in my experience.

Mk3 Heart-transplant or rebuild. 1JZ-GTE swap or 7M-GTE build? Help.

Selling the "entire 7M/W58 setup" will net you about $300. That would almost buy you a good clutch. but not quite. :) I say buy a 7MGTE setup as mentioned above. PS- How did you get 200whp out of a 7mge?

    7MGTE oil pressure

particularly considering that you're using synthetic. I've always had slightly lower pressure readings with it vs. dyno oil.
