You dont have to widen the tunnel, and yes the shifter sits farther back.. look at a mk4 w58 in comparison to a mk3 w58 and you will see the diference. I just recently saw a 2jz mk3 with a v160. Getrag is the company that MADE the v-160 it's a german company who also makes trannys for BMW's...
