i would say do a quick spin burn out to knock off anything that may have stuck onto the tired during the trip to the track. Don't stand on it waiting for smoke tho. 2 to 5 seconds should clean them off and put a little heat to them so they can have some traction.

i usually see them on the top rad hose. then run the wires to the gauge.... one of these sensor inside of it, cut the hose to fit this on both sides and thats about it.
