You seem to really know your thread standards. Yeah, we use national pipe over here, it's what I'm used to. Great idea on tapping the filter port too. I'll take your advice and set it up for AN-4 or 6 and go from there.
Thanks again from the "Two Js".
"There is a spare 1/8 bsp port in the main gallery in front of the oil pressure sender towards the front of the block on the exhaust side."
IJ: A litttle confusion about thread standards between our countries. Are you sure that port is 1/8 bsp? If so is it bspt or bspp (taper or parallel)...
Sure it's the lines?
My two cents: PS maintenance is an often overlooked item. The tank screen should be cleaned and the system flushed every 30-50K miles. Even better is to replace the fluid with synthetic and add a Magnefine filter in the return line. The stock cooler is nothing to write...
I agree, get it from the dealer. Use high strength threadlocker and make sure that puppy is torqued to spec. That it wasn't is probably why it came out to begin with. Check the crankshaft keyway too. If it's any consulation you aren't the first guy to have this happen.
The system should retain rest pressure after the engine is shutdown. It should drop no more than 5 psi in 10 minutes. It'll likely be gone after two hours though.
Btw, you can relieve rest pressure a couple of ways to prevent spillage. 1) Remove the fuel pump relay/resistor connector and let...
Thanks. Now that you're using an external cooler and T stat setup, how did you handle the stock cooler pressure line on the filter mount? Did you simply blank it off or are you running the stock cooler also?
Thanks guys. I specialize in EFI and TCCS but I'm a bit weak on the mechanical nuances of the engine.
I know the plate you're talking about now. Never realized it had anything written on it. IJ: is the spare port you mentioned that Allen hex screw behind the PS pump?
I'm not looking to...
You also could use the PermCool Universal adaptor. It has ports on top and bottom.so you get a choice of plumbing options and yes, the thread is 3/4-16. Summit sells many choices and there is a guy on ebay who sells different remote mounts and oil cooler kits for cheap. His ID is "taylor"...
Not sure what you guys mean about "under" the oil filter or the "7M" plate. Can you elaborate? Can that port be accessed with the oil filter mount still in place?
Also, does anyone know the size and thread pitch for the banjo bolts on the oil pan (oil cooler return line) and the turbo oil...
Can anyone tell me if there are external oil galley ports on the 7MGTE other than the sending unit and tubo feed line? Any unused plugs I can used to pick off oil pressure?. What's the hex head block plug behind the power steerring pump?
Gracias....
You should just use the adaptor and remote the filter directly off of it. Leave the oil cooler as is. That way the internal relief valve in the stock filter mount will take care of cold oil issues thru the cooler. Or you could use a thermostatic adaptor instead of the one pictured and run the...
$10 for an O ring? You can buy a dozen for that price or just go to most any auto store or bearing supply and buy one. Heck, you can buy an entire 400 piece metric or SAE kit for less than $10 at any number of places. Although not the highest quality elastomers out there they're plenty good...
karoad?
"when its bad n u unplug it , it bybasses the problem n makes the car think its running cold"
Actually no. An open thermo water sensor will cause the TCCS to default to a hot condition. It enters the fail safe mode and presumes a 178 degree F condition. It's all in the TCCS manual.
Anyone installed them on a 7MGTE? if so how did you plumb them? I'm talking about an electric preoiler btw, not the accumulator type. Mine is designed to do both preoiling and post oiling under electronic control but I'd like to hear how others have plumbed theirs before I install it.
Gracias....
mrnickleye, my BAR cert has been expired for a few years but we were required to do more than a visual regarding EGR. We had to test by pulling a vacuum on the modulator.
Also, the last I knew the first retest in CA is free by law if done at the same station. If the station charges for a...
What cwapface said. And remember, the Supra uses DIS with waste spark. The waste firing has different characteristics than the true so if you have a cheap light it may not be responding well to it. That's sometimes an issue with poorly made inductive pickups. Try cleaning the laminations on the...
Supraman7mgte: I'm confused. I never said pressure equals flow. That's very basic stuff so why would anyone think that? They're interelated though. Frankly, anyone not understanding the difference shouldn't be working on anything more complex than a lawnmower. Perhaps you were confusing me with...
