It's no different than a distributer. The reluctor for cylinder number one has to be triggered when that cylinder is near TDC on the compression stroke.
Think about it this way: The only reason you have to line up the notch and dot is to make the bolt hole fall within the slot. If you made the...
TDC on the compression stroke. Look at the book for where the notch/dot is. You just shoved it in there? Pardon me but how can you be rebuilding engines without an understanding of basic ignition/valve timing?
You be welcome. You have to remember EFI was invented to increase efficiency and reduce emissions, not to make the engine run "right". An engine will run perfectly fine with much sloppier mixture control, especially when warmed up. Carburetors had no problems doing it and compared to EFI they...
He's in open loop, that's obvious by his a/f ratio. You might be inclined to thing the sensor is bad but based on his idle a/f ratio something else is involved.
The O2 sensor is a trim sensor and has the least authority of any trim sensor in the system. Because it's the primary emissions...
Actually it couldn't be easier. The schematic clearly shows how it works. That said Ms Fisher's ex boyfriend has given the best advice so far. Try that.
Mike: That's priceless. I hope you keep it handy...
Depends on the application but generally speaking electronic is better. As for analog versus digital, analog is better for monitoring quickly changing parameters (trend information) while digital is best for absolutes.
Looks like classic ECD, the usual cause of weeping through a hose's reinforcement. It can effect all hoses in the engine at the point where they connect to metal fittings but upper radiator hose ECD is common:

Replace the hose and coolant. If...
The readings are confusing because Vf is meaningless when the system is in open loop. After all the "f" in Vf means feedback. In other words you're attempting to use a part of the system for troubleshooting a fuel control issue, a part of the system that is only useful when the engine is in fuel...
ViR2: Yes. A combo full flow and depth filter. I hear it's used mainly on diesels and not available in the US. Can be had in Canada and OZ though. Dunno about your neck of the woods. I hear they're not exactly cheap either. Maybe Jeff Lange will chime in about this.
Dub: No info on...
Exhaust at the rear could be the EGR cooler but it sounds like the HG. Were the locating dowels for the head in place on the block? What kind of gasket, how was the head and blocked prepped, and what was it torqued to?
Edit: beaten by the Dubster ;)
I'm pretty sure Champion makes Valvoline filters but Purolator used to be involved. Said so right on the box.
Poodles: Look at the base plate. Is one of the inlet holes smaller than the others? Is there a code stamped into it? Something like "AA"? If so it's a Champ...
John: Ever seen one of...
