Ok. Let's hear it! Your best street win and yes...your worst street loss!

Nice kill man, e46's aren't exactly slouches. Sadly, the only thing that's ever outran me was a Cadilac CTS-V. Damn Corvette LS2 :nono:

    2JZGTE MKIII Swap Info

Thank you sir :) Wouldn't mind an All-Trac myself, considering all the dirt roads around here... but I think an 84 p-type might be in my very new future, so this jz project might be pushed back a month or so. Not like I'll be up to much anyway, with winter coming...

    saga of the MkI restoration/build

Well, a year and a half later, and I know the current status of this car. It's sitting in his old barn up here in the frozen north. I really want to do this car justice, and between myself and a couple other local Toyota nuts, we want to get it going, but it probably won't be until sometime next...

    2JZGTE MKIII Swap Info

Mostly for the ease of clutter is why I like the singled setups. :) And I forget where the stock ct would spool on my 7m, but the 57 trim was generating boost before 2k. Not much, and it wouldn't be hitting hard until around 3200 or so, but I had a 'bit' of headwork done on it ;) For...

    2JZGTE MKIII Swap Info

As much as I love huge turbos and the tsunami of torque that they can create, I'm more the type to go for a balanced powerband. Something that spools early (enough), and spools hard. Something well matched to a stock (for now, mwahaha) head/bottom end. Any suggestions? I'm pretty familiar with...

    2JZGTE MKIII Swap Info

Haha, awesome, I'll finally get an excuse to buy a bigger hammer, or a crowbar. Seemed to work for Freeman... :biglaugh: In all seriousness though, I figure I'll go with a reasonable sized turbo, maybe the one that twisted my buddy's driveshaft, seeing as how his setup can't really take the...

    2JZGTE MKIII Swap Info

First off, I want to say thank you for putting this thread together :) I figure I might be the first person in Wyoming to have a 2j swap... soon. Oh well, it's not like I'd be driving the car much through the winter anyway haha. I may have missed it, but do the BIC brackets allow you to...

    SySt's Build up

I've never used electric fans on a Supra before, but you might try (for the top end anyway) using carriage bolts, pointed upwards, through the top of the fan housing, and bolted to a bracket that would bolt to the stock radiator holding tabs. Not so sure about the bottom end of things, you might...

Ok. Let's hear it! Your best street win and yes...your worst street loss!

Trucks are funny like that... Just because they have v8's, or turbos (in the case of modern diesels), they all think they're fast. Sadly, about all you need to have to be the fastest thing around here is about 600whp, no joke. Most people around here can't drive all that great anyway, so if...

    NPR pistons?

Not bad at all... However, my evil plans are gonna have to wait for now, as financing for this project is at a standstill until after SILV. Was gonna go with 9:1 pistons, while I had the motor open (don't we all just LOVE rod knock? haha), but until I can afford to drop a few grand on this thing...

    NPR pistons?

Thanks for all the input guys, looks like I'll be avoiding the NPR's. Followed a link from the thread link above to IPP's website, they sell an Eagle H-beam/Wiseco combo for ~$970 that is looking awfully tempting. Damn my cheap side for even thinking of putting cheap pistons in my car :p

    NPR pistons?

Just wondering if anybody has any experience with NPR pistons? They're listed on HPF as OEM pistons for our cars, and at $177 for a set (with rings!), I'm thinking about picking a set up, but wanted to see if anybody has a good reason not to... ...other than the fact that for another $500 I...

Ok. Let's hear it! Your best street win and yes...your worst street loss!

There is a yellow 03-04 Cobra here in town which is nice to see that there are a few real contenders, being that pretty much everybody in town drives pickups and diesel trucks. Other than a couple ls1 Camaros, there really isn't anything I see around here that would actually play with me. I KNOW...

any one really miss their first car?

I had a 94 cavalier that by some miracle could get over 40mpg. I still don't understand the logic behind that one, I think it had BHG by the time I sold it, but you know what they say about chevy: "it'll run like shit forever!" :p Miss it for the mileage, but miss my first Supra WAY more, it...

I have a warrant out for me? I don't suppose we have any lawyers here....

Hmm... You could set a price for raffle tickets, estimate how many people might be interested (to get a good price for the turbo), then post up a for sale thread with something like $XX (turbo description) for sale in the title. That's what I'd suggest anyway, I can see that working out alright...

I have a warrant out for me? I don't suppose we have any lawyers here....

I like this idea myself... Just sayin'. :) Hell, at $25, $30 a ticket, I'd say it would be WELL worth the shot at getting a good turbo like that... Best wishes to you guys though... I don't mean to downplay the situation, but I have a good number of friends whose husbands are military, and...

The $2008 Grassroots challenge build-up thread

Nice pics man! I'm really curious to see how this turns out, good luck with everything! I ran Koni yellows and Eibach springs on my 88 hardtop, and that thing was stiff as hell! :D Oh, and if the trim pieces (on the outside of the b-pillar, behind the window) are loose and rattling (like most...

Ok. Let's hear it! Your best street win and yes...your worst street loss!

heh, that^ reminds me of the night i blew my head gasket... racing a gti jetta. nothing special, just a shiny exhaust tip and even shinier wheels... did the whole 4th gear pull until i realized he was outrunning me, so i dropped to third and oddly enough, didn't hit fuel cut. after messing with...

Ok. Let's hear it! Your best street win and yes...your worst street loss!

i had a bit of fun with a vw gti (like a mk3 gti i think? rice pipe and chiny rims, anyway...) the last time i drove my car... blew off at him on the highway home late one night, and i was spooling enough to blow off at him again, and he took off just as i was letting off. went from 4th at about...

    Longest lasting engines.

there's a joke around my group that certain motors just were designed with failure points. 7m bhg's, chevy small blocks came from the factory with a bad rear main seal, wankers, er.. wankels blow apex seals every other oil change, dsms and timing belts... it's just how these things work...
