^ What I use too although any filter is better than nothing. The best one is a true hydraulic filter. And don't be putting it in the high pressure side. That would be bad...

    Coil pack and Igniter

Interesting thread. Especially the Bulgar-english ;) OP: The igniter does not supply voltage to the coil packs, it supplies ground. And it must be connected to the chassis to do so...

Issues Calibrating the TPS on an 89 supra 7m-gte

Talk about killing an ant with a sledgehammer. While it'll somewhat work theres a lot wrong in a strict technical sense with that procedure and I don't recommend it be used.

    Mad mad mad

^ I was wondering the same thing. Assuming he has no boost controller to abuse in what manner could the mechanic have driven the car to "blow" a brand new turbo that would've been different from a manner the owner himself would drive it? That aside I would have told him to take it up with a...

    Cooling issue

There are several explanations for the perceived loss of preload he observed and there's nothing that says his gasket would have failed if he'd done nothing. I realize it flies in the face of common wisdom here (which is why I rarely get involved) but retorque also flies in the face of long...

    Cooling issue

Agree. I reused them and never did a retorque. Don't believe in it. 56k miles later I'm still happy. Been working on cars all my life. Never done a retorque and never had a problem. Never had a factory manual that said I must. Never heard of a competent shop telling a customer to come back for...

AC going back in, need input on flush

Hmmm. Flush it: drain what's in there, add an ounce or two of mineral oil, turn the shaft a few times and again drain. Then add the full charge. My TSRM says 80cc +/- 20 for a compressor overhaul. My other AC books (and what I can find online) specify 3.5 oz for total system capacity up to 1990...

AC going back in, need input on flush

It's a decent price, just that over the years they went from 16 to 14 to 12 oz. Hassle to use too. I'll stick with my 30 pounders and a heated charging cylinder ;) Normally with those little cans I charge with liquid but better you charge with vapor. All the oil you need is what's in the...
