Mechanical Engineering: How to make a MONSTER

Oh my...and yes, an 84mm headgasket would be fine, and like was said already, don't look for a thinner head gasket. Sounds like you want about a 1.4 or 1.5mm headgasket, if very little material was removed.

Project Cherry Widebody, finished! (New pics on post #451 and #511)

Wow. Everyone's already said it here, but that is awesome. I would also like to see some sunlight photos of it, especially once it has its mouldings on. At that point, I think the car is going to be Amazing. Go park it in the middle of a Ferrari meet, and see where everyone gravitates to...

    GA Supras

At the start of next month, I'll be over on the lawrenceville/ Winder side of town as well, as I'm moving there. So keep this thread posted about any future meet, as I'll be happy to drive my ugly-ass work-in-progress over. :naughty:

LOL! I was wondering when someone would chime in about this "IT'S ALIVE!....ALIVE!!!!" :yelrotflm

well damn everyone else has one....goal=keep it running!

Looks good. I personally didn't like the PBR ultimates, though. They made way more dust than any other pad i've used, and squealed all the time up front. I went back to metal masters.

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

Looks awesome. So where is the IC going to go? It doesn't look like theres room between the headlights, is there? I assume it's going below the bumper. Please tell me you're going to paint it black so it's nearly un-noticeable. :evil2: PS- The exhaust piping- I don't remember if you...

    car won't start

So did you ever get oil pressure to read?? PS- I wouldn't automatically assume that 51 is for AC. Check that the plug going to the TPS is secure.

    Tanya's New Mk2

I liked that vid- I did get a bit dizzy with the fast pic changes, but it was still well made. I was pissed when you took it down- I reloaded my video card drivers so I could see the video(it was in negative colors for some reason), and when I got it back up and running- the vid was gone...

oil pump drive gear wont fit!!!

In any case, problem solved, proper advice(take it back out and mic' it) has been given. We'll wait for the "7M shortblock wanted" post if he doesn't do it. :biglaugh:

Motor Fire, Bring back life project! It's ALIVE!!!

Hey don't worry- you didn't sound like an ass at all.....throughout that entire tirade....nope. Not one bit. Dude- you need to remove everything from the top of the engine, and make an inventory of what's good and what's bad. Unless something got into the block, I don't think you need...

    My new 7M buildup...long road.

Oh yeah- I have enough oil. I have only about 500 miles on it, and it's on it's second oil change, and has an additional quart in it. I also lowered the oil pickup about a half inch when installing. It is a used pump that I disassembled and checked clearances on. Even though they were good, I...

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

This is an awesome project, man. If- when you're done, this thing looks almost totally stock, I think it'll be one of the coolest sleepers I've ever read about. :biglaugh:

    My new 7M buildup...long road.

Well, that's the thing- it does have high pressure when cold, but drops below my comfort level once its warm, about 30psi max at 3500 rpm, steady state driving. I would really like to see at least 15 psi higher in that situation. My plan is to replace the oil pump and piston oil squirters. For...

    Pre Built 7mgte

I see you're in GA. I know that Jarco Corp. does rebuilds, and I think they can redo them w/ a metal headgasket.

    NPR pistons?

I have a set of those in .020 over sitting in the box. I went with Probe's myself. However- Sethron- you call them teflon coated- is that what it is? because mine has the same coating but they were described as anodized crowns, not teflon.

    88 supra accelaration problem

Yeah- I didn't think you could put such large injectors on a Lexus MAF.

    Who is V8HAHA?

I think that was the plate. A dark blue 87-88. You passed me on I-75 south, up around Windy Hill. Just wondering, because it sounded pretty good. :icon_bigg

    r154 tranny

If you lift it, you'll blow out two discs. If you only blow out one, it's a W58. :biglaugh: The R154 has two black inspection/ access covers, one on each side of the bellhousing. The W58 has none. That's the most obvious visual difference.
