Haha, looks good on ya man. I rocked a mohawk for a couple months, worked out well for me until it started to grow into a mullet...
I'm still wondering wtf a 'ninja cut' is?
Oh, it's possible to get to the nuts for that rear turbo's manifold... have fun is all I can say. I'll never replace a y-pipe while in car ever again. :p
There are plenty of people with full fiberglass enclosures out there, sounds like you already know what you're doing though. As for relocating the targa to the rear seat, I would suggest angling it down, as the space between the rear shock towers and the back of your driver/passenger seat likely...
Honestly I thought the PWR was discontinued, but if you can still find them, $500 is well worth the price. I know people who have had them on Mk3's for YEARS. I still have mine, it's treated me quite well. If you can find another one, I'd suggest springing for the extra bit over the Mishimoto...
I think I have a pretty good understanding of the idea of retrofitting an HID setup, but what would you recommend for a lens shaeff? I can't imagine stock style or h4's are a good idea with the way they spread light around...
Mine smoked like a bastard for a bit after first getting it going, but it was mostly assembly oil and the fact it hadn't been run in quite a while. Smelled bad too. I know that rear turbo is a bitch to get at the manifold nuts, but try tightening them up, sometimes they come loose.
Not to start another M vs JZ vs whatever argument, but the M series had it's roots in the 1960's, much like Chevy and it's LT series v8's. Nice motors, run well if left well enough alone, but what followed them was generally considered an upgrade (the LS series v8). I feel the same way about the...
Are you sure you're turning it the right way? I used an impact on the 1j's crank bolt since the mofo is ON there (I believe the torque spec is over 200ft-lbs, last I saw printed in the TSRM), and I couldn't pop the thing by hand. About the only thing I've ever had to use an impact on, worked...
I used to think that about my Mk2 until I realized that everybody else just drives their cars/trucks like assholes around here. I'd say the GPS is probably a bit more reliable than your 20 year old speedometer. Does your needle 'bounce' as well?
Oh wow... no, my motor doesn't shake that bad, doesn't really shake at all, just has a bit of a vibration to it that you feel in the shifter. Never felt it before. I'll chase it down this weekend. :)
Doh! That's right, I'm really not sure what I was thinking. I really should stop trying to give tech advice after I'm worn out from work. You could always just buy a JZA70 R154, mine doesn't even have a hole there. Has the threaded hole for the sensor, but the hole that the sensor itself would...
Try unlocking the car from the passenger side only from now on. Had this same issue with my 88. Unlocked it from the passenger side, never had the problem again. ;)
To hear that someone did that to a 2002 makes me kinda sad, they're rare enough as it is without the tree huggers ruining them. Why not a 325 or something more common?
And that Volt is going to be expensive, as are most new Chevy products. Somebody's gotta pay that loan back...
On the subject...
Slow, simple, boring. These three things make for a good daily driver. Granted, we all have different definitions of these three things, so...
Only thing I can say about Audis is that comparatively speaking, parts will be more expensive than something more common such as the Accord/Camry...
If anything I'd say the solid mounts on mine would make vibrations like this even more noticeable than any OEM mount. ;)
And yeah, I had to remove the shifter so I could slide the dash back far enough to get into where the speedometer cable runs through, and to fix the hose that attaches to the...
The one question that anybody has failed to ask, is HOW do you know that your speedo is off in the first place? Tire size, differential ratio, transmission, and rpm in whatever gear you choose. Plug this info into here:

Really easy gearing calculator...
Wouldn't that just be going to the grocery store for you AU guys Ian?
Truth be told man, those L28's and their crazy same-side intake/exhaust manifolds scared me enough to vow never to work on them. :p
