    Winter Tires

I ran 225/50/16 Goodyear Assurance Tripletreads for 4 winters, with great results. Kinda pricey, but not overpriced. Just picked up a set of the same size Continental DWS for the old lady's Mazda3, I have a set of these as well for my 89, albeit in a 255/40/17.

    Winter Driving

I've driven through 4 winters with Supras (two in my 88 n/a auto, one in the 84 p-type 5sp, and one in the 89 1j/R154), and have driven all of them on Goodyear Assurance TripleTread tires. If you're still running 16's, they can be had in the stock size (17's I just couldn't find a good size for...

Exhaust belching fire! Badass or dangerous?

I just wanna say that you have my apologies for being slightly off topic, but WOW... that's one hell of a good sounding n/a. I would LOVE that engine in a Mk2.

    trip to the beachouse

Good to see I wasn't the only one who noticed the cluster... Car looks pretty nice though man, and I love roads like that!

    Tires

Trust me, if you have the Eibach springs on it, you're gonna like the stance, they look damn good. Unfortunate side effect however, you're not gonna want to ever go over another speedbump, and you'll have to learn WHERE you can and cannot drive. That said, they are really good springs as far as...

Is bypassing the Neutral safety switch good?

All of my Supras have had the NSS bypassed. Most of my other cars didn't have one to begin with, or I bypassed them. I really should get a remote start (would make winter much more tolerable in the mornings), but like IJ and a few others, I usually leave my car both in gear and e-braked when i...

    Water in rear hatch

What, our cars aren't like old Chevies, with the factory installed leaks? Weird... As for the passenger side wing piece, I put electrical tape around the tip of a small diameter (but about 8" long) screwdriver, and used that to "pop" the little button toward the front of the wing side piece...

    Stock clutch

Mine started slipping BAD after I cranked the boost from 11psi to 15-16 on stock twins, 1jz. Car made 320rwhp on 12psi at SILV, not sure how much torque it's at though, dyno didn't list that for us, sadly. That said, my disc is in decent shape, but the flywheel had a lot of heat damage. Oh well...

All Stock Non turbo Supra 1/4 mile

Alright, I withdraw my flaming of Supra drivers at SILV, at least in your case. I thought everybody there was running 16's and 17's was turbo. Good to see this isn't the case. Not bad for an n/a auto, I still miss mine somedays...

    1154rwhp 7M (with nitrous) 975rwhp Turbo Only!

Hah, I'm in that video that kamikazemkiii posted, taking video from the passenger side of the car... Wonder if mine sounds any better? I've been trying to get everything sorted out since SILV, got back to Wyoming Monday late night and started a new job the next morning. I've been playing catch...

***SM member 1/4 mi. times list***

First time ever to a track, and I can probably say I've "launched" any car I've owned maybe a total of 20 times? Needless to say, I'm more a road racer, not a regular at the drag strip (more because of location than choice, damn my living in BFE). I was in the left lane against a nice looking...

    ***SM Member Horsepower List***

I'm guessing I can get on the list? 320rwhp at SILV 2010. Would have had higher but couldn't get the boost controller to cooperate so it's only on the stock wastegates. 89 Supra, 1jz, stock twins @12psi, BC264 cams, ported/polished, 3" exhaust from turbos back. Stock AIRBOX for whatever that's...

    1jzgte 5speed still r-154 right?

Haha, there have been times I wouldn't mind a 4.30 diff, as it's my daily driver, but at the same time I rather like that my 2nd gear goes to 75mph on my speedo (which is actually closer to ~84mph), and third will run me over 100 (speedo, ~110 actual). :D

    steering wheel removal

Thanks for the posts guys, I've been meaning to put an old Nardi wheel on my car for ages, but haven't bothered to get the hub yet... I'll bookmark this one to reference when I finally do. Tried removing it once before, but looking above, I was going about it a totally wrong way (thought the...

    Wheel Fitment & Question Thread

You're gonna be fine gottadiesel, on both accounts. That's pretty much the same as the Mk4TT rims that many of us run, with 10mm less offset. I'm running a 275/40/17 on a 9.5" +50 and I still have ~15mm until it hits anything (nearest thing for me is the traction arm) in the rear. The ONLY thing...

2010 Supras Invade Las Vegas (tm) – mid October

See you guys Thursday! One quick question for ya though Keith, do you happen to know if LVMS requires helmets in cars with cages? I'll be bringing one just in case, but would rather know in advance.

MA70 ABS in JZ conversion. RHD

Once you get this figured out, somebody needs to sticky this. I tried putting the ABS sensor from my 7m's R154 onto my 1j's R154 only to find that the hole where the sensor itself plugs into the trans is filled in with metal... Good luck with your efforts though!

1.5jzgte ECU/harness/Control questions and ideas. Shoot me down or lift me up!

Good Lord man... I have enough headaches with my car with just a more or less *simple* 1jz. Granted, my car is the the metal embodiment of the devil sometimes, but it smells like you're just asking for a lot of head scratching here. I'm all for ingenuity, but if you're looking to build a...
