how much would you pay for my car

Realistically speaking, I could see a car like yours fetching in the neighborhood of 6-7k. I hate to bust your balls on this one, but with the economy the way it has been in the last couple years, people aren't exactly jumping at the chance to buy cool cars as frequently as they used to. That's...

    Lightened flywheel question

I have a stock flywheel on my 1j (old one was toast, stupid boost...), with whatever 6 puck clutch DM sells (ACT? Action Clutch?), and I gotta say, it's nice. Barely any chatter even though I usually get off the line just off idle speeds. That said, it'll grab whatever I throw at it, and it's no...

what killed your last motor thread

Really? How so? I thought it was kinda fun, until I realized that I was pointed down wind, then it kinda sucked. :biglaugh:

    New Guy From UTAH

Welcome to the worst addiction of your life haha... If you're ever gonna be up in the Rock Springs area, lemme know.

    SupraMario's 78 Rolla Build AKA the IS50

After spending a while in the Supra world, going back to lightweight cars seems like a bargain. Traction's cheaper, brakes are cheaper, power's cheaper, gas is cheaper... Hence my Supra is going to be a high power highway monster, I'll build something else after I'm done with that to satisfy my...

    Oil Pressure

I guess everyone has different oil pressures, depends on oil type I would think. I run Rotella 5w-40 synthetic, and I'm ~60+ cold startup, ~40-55 cruising, and ~20-25 warm idle. Oil pump in my 1j has ~70k on it, might replace it when I pull the engine next summer. To answer your question...

Cassette Tape in Engine Bay... wtf?

Supramania's becoming more of a time-sucker than Wikipedia for me these days... I just spent 40 minutes reading through all the random crap people have found in their cars haha! As far as mine, only two odd things have popped up in my 89 that I've thought out of place (the usual change, screws...

Staying Cool w/ or w/o targa?

This. Unfortunately, living at high elevation sucks for this reason. I used to drive the SS with the T-tops in the trunk, the Miata with the roof down, and the Supra with the targa off whenever possible when I was living in Phoenix. Up here at 6500' though, forget it. Five minutes to sunburn...

    Cut Eibach springs

Does your car not scrape things enough where you live? I had the Eibach pros on my 88 back when I had that car. No need to go any lower, that setup had a beautiful stance. But, to each their own I guess. :nono:

what killed your last motor thread

Decided my tires had too much tread on them, this is what killed my old 7m: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71zzrm3xfjk Learned shortly after that to run a quart over full on the dipstick to avoid this sort of thing. ;)

    Can Supras Turn?

Isn't this the third or fourth thread you've dug up from beyond the GRAVE Carl? :p Back on topic though, give my car a good set of brakes and some better cooling, and I'm pretty sure I'd be somewhat competitive on a road course once I got used to the track. :)

    Subwoofer for targa top owners?

Seems everyone's got the sub question taken care of, onto your door speaker question. I had bought Polk db401's for my doors and db501's for the hatch. Test fit the 501's in the door pods, they fit perfectly. Not a whole lot of improvement, but not much more money either. If you want better...

    Power steering reservoir

I've always run Toyota filters out of habit, and have as such figured out a way to get a metal strap wrench in there pretty easily. Just need it to untorque it, but that's good info on the k&n, thanks man!

    nice 1jz burn OUT!

Sweet burnout, but someone's gotta point it out to ya... that's not a Datsun. It's an E20 Corolla. Apparently that one was originally equipped with a K-series engine. That said, I'd say the 1j was a nice upgrade from that puny K-engine. Especially in a car weighing > 1 ton. :)...

    If I were to mention....

I've seen plenty of Chevy motors (handful of LS conversions) but never a Ford, although there's nothing wrong with a 302 in my book. Just make sure you can rev it to 7k and run a decent size turbo, and your power level will be cake to make, even on pump gas. I'm not that far off (assuming you're...

    Power steering reservoir

Most any 1j power steering reservoir I've seen is kinda between the left side shock tower and the fuse box... kinda makes it a pain in the butt to change the oil unless you've relocated the filter though.

    DM oil sender hose

Blue Loctite seals it up nicely. For what it's worth, that's a taper thread guys, it seals as you tighten it. Just don't pull it out once you get it in if you don't have to. ;)

Holy shit, you're still around Clayton? Finally put the Soarer engine in the Mk3 huh?

How close have you been to giving up?

If this is your first Supra and it is at all a nice car... don't give up on it, because you will regret it, and chances are, any Supra you own after this one is going to seem inferior. Ask me how I know. Ask me why I still carry my 88's key on me at all times. Ask me how many times I've seen...
