Thanks. It's that awesome hand crafted and welded to perfection downpipe that gives it that deep tone. Oh, and the custom bottom falling out of the muffler too. I'll get a shot of that next vid. Oh and the loud hissing sound is that IAC vavle with that little filter on it. That thing...

When I first start the car I have to throttle it a little to keep it from dying. It idles pretty low right now. Everytime it stumbles you can hear a knock sound. That's just my upper intercooler pipe knocking on the strut tower. I can't wait to fix my MAP ECU problem. I thougth about...

Thanks anyhow Travis. I'll just wait until I get mine back. David, which wideband did you get? Where did you tap it into? How far down the downpipe?

MapECU not reading rpm, vf sig, and dies when given gas.

I'm having the same problem too. Does not display RPM. Did you ever find a fix for yours? I'm searched their forums for an "updated" wiring diagram. They don't have one. They just refer you to their website and get one from their support tab. I too have double and triple check my wiring...

What is the best way to clean grime off of head?

I used a pressure washer, and wore some clothes I didn't care about.

I started the car up. It idles. No CEL codes so far. I'm assuming the MAP ECU still isn't getting an rpm signal cause it still wants to die when you touch the throttle. It runs as if the AFM is unplugged. It doesn't give me a CEL though. Travis I just might take you up on that offer...

Damn. Looks good. I put my manifold back on this morning. Everything is plugged in and clamped down. Right now I have to go my sons school for their fiesta party, so I can't start it up right now. Rewiring those knock sensors should clear up that CEL I was getting. Now I have to work on...

    oil pump driveshaft seal

That's because you here alot of bashing going on against "failpro" on these forums. Through the years of owning my MKIII I've blown two factory toyota headgaskets. The last time my engine failed I shattered my ringlands on #1 piston. My "failpro" HG was still in good shape. After three years...

Supra vs Ford GT on Forum Wars

Ford GT ran the whole road course in 2nd gear. That's torque advantage there. Even if the Supra was set up for turns I really think the GT would have still edged him out on the last two events.

I don't know. I can unplug my ECU harness and turn on the radio and see if it'll work. But that wouldn't be until I get back home from work. I've gotta get ready to go soon. This morning I took off my upper intake manifold to rewire my Knock sensors. That's done. Now I have to put the...

Supra vs Ford GT on Forum Wars

I guess we can say that about all of the "lesser" cars out there that can compete and beat us. Omni, Neon, Civic, and the list goes on. I dunno, I just never did like the dollar vs dollar comparison. Run what you brung. Don't pull out the, "we'll at least I only have $$$ into mine" card...

    Another Clutch issue Post!

Yeah, that's a notorious problem for DSM's. Check to see if all of your pressure plate to flywheel bolts are tight. I was once told that re-using flywheel bolts can cause a knock sounding problem too. Does it vibrate any while driving? Drive it in first gear slowly next to a curb (or...

    Another Clutch issue Post!

Sounds like a clutch release bearing. Or it could be your thrust bearing went out and now you have crank walk making your engine knock around. When you press the clutch in it give the thrust bearing some pressure and holds the crankshaft steady making the noise go away. Ok ok, I was...

I'll hit you up David. Thanks. You know, I wondering the same thing. The one that got this thread started is MIA. I wonder how he's doing. I found out that neither one of my knock sensors are grounded. Of course I wouldn't have know any better because I've never seen them hooked up...

torque specs for main caps and rod bolts

http://www.turboninjas.com/mk3supra/ Under general info, rebuild specs brief... connecting rods require 47lb/ft of torque. Same website TSRM exploded view of 7mgte. http://www.turboninjas.com/mk3supra/1990/indiv/03_EM.pdf Rod cap bolt is the same 47lb/ft. Also on page EM-92 it states...

David, you gonna go pull an EGR valve from it? I've got CEL codes 24 & 52. 24 - Intake air Temp Sensor Signal. I think I may have my resistor on the wrong pins. I'll have to move them and recheck the codes. 52 - Knock Sensor Signal. Time for a re-wire. I'm hoping that's all it is...

Ok, I put a little K&N filter on the IAC and the vacuum went up to 15in/Hg. I remember back in the day it used to pull 21-23in/Hg. I'm still getting hesitation when I get on the throttle. The little coolant leak has magically disappeared. I still have to find out where it was coming from...

Oh it does! Ok, here's an update. Apparently the IAC valve needs to pull vacuum. Originally it was routed in the accordian pipe between the AFM and turbo. Now that I'm eliminating the AFM I don't have it hooked up to anything currently. It's just open to atmosphere. I was only pulling -9...

It's gotta be the MAP ECU. I was thinking of running it with the stock afm and see what's up. But I'd have to fab up a pipe and all. I'm communicating with MAP ECU Man on their forums for some support. He'll probably reply Monday or so. I don't expect him to reply over the weekend.

Progress today. Finished up my downpipe earlier this week. I just put it on, and it's a good fit. Screwed in the O2 sensor, and plugged it in. Dragged my desktop down to the garage to load up a fuel table on my MAP ECU. I tried to adjust my TPS values and really didn't have any luck. I...
