LOL...it is, it just looks pretty because I ceramic coated it.
Duralast batteries are actually pretty good...made by Johnson Controls. They make the Diehard, Motorcraft and Optima batteries too ;)
The heat here in Phoenix kill lead-acid batteries pretty quick. The Duralast Gold has a...
It is, but once it goes over 105 or so, it just doesnt matter ;)
Scott - so we don't totally jack your thread bitching about the weather, here's the pic you requested:
Doing well...it's just hot as hades in Phoenix right now ;)
Coating pistons is not something I want to invest the time in...it would drive me nuts and if you screw-up, a lot of $$$ too. The coating is a factory option when you order these...in fact, each order (other than the .040 over) are...
Ross are good, but heavy...JE's are light, but the skirts are fairly short requiring a fairly tight piston to wall tolerance. I just purchased a set of CP pistons...ceramic coated tops, coated skirts, double forced pin oiling. CP's are a little heavier than JE. Probes (IMO) are a good stock...
Jesse, you're not listening...are you looking at auto or manual trannys?
(the manual trannys are different for turbo vs NA too).
One more time, you need to be more specific in your posts or you're going to start getting ignored.
What happens is the heat dissipated by the oil-to-air cooler is air-flowed directly to the radiator, reducing it's ability to dissipate heat, thus reducing radiator efficiency. Even then, the heat transferred to the coolant by the oil-to-water cooler is likely greater. Using a PWR radiator...
If you're talking about a sandwich plate, that is probably true. If you're using an adapter to run lines to a remote filter though, it should screw on just like an oil filter would on a GE motor.
If you are going Turbo A340E to NA A340E, it's a straight swap. The big difference is the additional clutch plates like Suprabad said....just as long as you realize Toyota put the extra clutch plates in the turbo A340E for a reason ;)
In the future, be more specific in what you ask. That...
That's what I was referring to as well...with my Ross pistons at 5 thou, I experience piston slap when the engine is cold. It gets better when it warms up, but sounds like a diesel until it does. It's going to depend on how long the skirts are on the Probes.
- The hard line attaches to the water pump housing (gasket)
- The two turbo coolant lines to the water neck and water pump union (copper crush washers).
- Water neck sensors
- Where the water neck bolts to the head (gasket)
- Long shot - there's a freeze plug above the oil pressure sensor (I...
That 90 deg rubber hose in the 2nd pic looks buldged...it connects the hard line around the block to the water neck. It might have a pin hole leak on the bottom side. In any case, I would replace it...it doesn't look good and if it goes, you will lose all your coolant in short order.
