    Need help...

So, you're trying to tell me that an oil additive will solve a mechanical problem...i.e. lifter noise, rod knock, etc? Sorry, but that just doesn't float. All you do is mask the problem...so will using a 50W motor oil. There's a solution to a mechanical problem...fix it. There is not an...

    Need help...

So, you going to tell the guy you sell it to that it has knock and you used Lucas to quite it down? :3d_frown: Lucas is crap...period. Don't even try to sell it here unless you do...I'll post what you did, then lock the thread immediately unless you provide full disclosure.

    oil pump to block fitting

Thanks for the correction...couldn't remember if it was 1/2" or 3/8". Did know it was BSP ;)

    Need help...

Suggest you drain your oil and get that Lucas crap out of there: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm Oil additives are not going to "fix" anything...just run a quality oil and filter.

    New Type of Spark Plug

The point is you can do several dyno runs on the same car (no changes) on the same dyno and get different results in the same 3-5 HP range. OAT and barometric pressure have an effect too. This is the exact same thing when someone tells you running this oil or this additive will increase HP and...

    oil pump to block fitting

Where the fitting screws into the block is a pipe fitting...1/2" BSP iirc...NPT fittings will not work. I don't remember the size of the nut that holds the tube from the pump, but it should be tight enough to where the tube will not move up/down on the block fitting.

    Proper Operating Temps?

I'd have to look at my TCCS book (I'm away for a bit) to be sure what timing does at temps below 176 degs F, but I do know that warm-up enrichment utilizes the main injectors. The colder the motor is, the more enrichment is afforded by the ECU...it decreases to zero at the point where coolant...

Yep...I'm afraid IJ is once again correct :(

    Proper Operating Temps?

A 180-190 temp would be better to get a jump on it. The ECU does pull timing above 210...warm-up enrichment occurs below 176, but it is a decreasing amount as the temp approaches 176. Of the two, pulling timing would be the least desirable.

That's not a 7M water pump housing. This diagram shows the front plate with the water pump housing on the left: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=EM&P=63

    Proper Operating Temps?

For oil temps, you are correct. For coolant temps, the stock ECU looks for a temp range of 176-210 deg F.

    odd compression test q&a

survyor - when you say "pours out of the oil pan", where exactly is it coming from...be as specific as you can. flu - thanks for that info on the spray sealer on a MHG...I've seen the same thing. Been preaching for a long time not to use the spray on a new MHG because it attacks the Viton...

    coolant leak (pics)

It's a cast piece that bolts on to the front of the block...the front plate that has to be machined when you deck the block for a MHG prep. You would have to take everything off the front of the motor and remove the head to get to it.

    EGR Block Off Plate

Yeah...you're doing it, so it must be fine. The usual logical fallacy. The fact is you don't know George. I know what I've seen on EGTs and I know what the TCCS fuel/timing maps are tuned for. The effect EGR has on combustion temps is a fact. I agree with Poodles.

    Oil Cooler yes or no?

Either, but the one with the fan will be very difficult to fit. You'll have to see if you have the room to accommodate the thickness. You also want "some" space between it and the rad...you don't want the rad and cooler to touch. Make sure you use a thermostat. BTW - That SF thread was...
