    Car registration expenses?

Just curious for those of you out there, what does it cost to register your Supra, for one year? Mine are as follows and seem rather high... 89 Mk3: $127 84 Mk2: $86 Granted, I don't have to go through or deal with emission testing, so it *kinda* balances out, but I still feel like we get...

    Cell phone thread

No offense, but I always wondered what the hell it was that you did for a living considering how much time it seems you spend on here. :) Sadly though, around here, you can tell when the kids get out of school. Internet speed begins to crawl, I call it "facebook time". I guess that has...

You might be a 1J owner if.....

Story of my life, at least among the people I hang out with. :nono: Story of *their* life though. Chuck Norris would drive a 7m. Does it get manlier than that?

1jz serpentine slipping at around 5000 rpm

Nothing's cheap on these cars man. If you're hoping to maintain one of these cars for cheap, you're setting yourself up for disappointment in the long run.

Widebody: S2 front fenders and Kaze Aerocraft rear fenders (Shineautoproject Replica)

Alright, alright, I'll get some pics in the next couple days. Don't have internet at my house so I'd have to upload from work. Currently painting the master bedroom, it's really the only place to lay out all these parts in "car shape". Still don't have these fenders or my CF hood though, so it's...

    Blind spots on a supra

This. Never understood people who point their mirrors at the side of the car, doesn't make any sense... This as well. Just make sure you know what's in front of you and what *could* be in front of you before turning to glance. This was one reason driving a Miata was kinda nice. Top down, you...

    Twincharged.

I think I'll speak for everyone in saying that once you get that thing tuned to your liking, we would ALL love to see a dyno graph. I don't care if it only makes 300whp, I'd love to see the curve that setup gets you... My guess? Amazing low end and mid range, with a bit of dropping off above...

    Cell phone thread

Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the technology, I dislike the fact that this sort of technology KILLS productivity in the average person. That said, your typical "drop it once hard enough and it's toast" style of smart phone wouldn't survive life with me. Now, make a smart phone that...

    Gurren Lagann!!!

You're probably right... can't believe I've been watching this stuff for almost as many years as I wasn't watching it. Burst Angel, just finished it up last night, and gotta say, WTF ending? I should be used to odd or disappointing endings, but this series was building itself up nicely...

You might be a 1J owner if.....

That's what I always wonder when I'm pulling away from 700+ ft/lb diesel pickups... and why I don't pick on bikes.

1jz serpentine slipping at around 5000 rpm

Can always fabricate a manual tensioner, but you wouldn't have posted this thread if you were in the habit of making custom parts. Besides, I seem to remember a few threads discussing WHY Toyota put in an auto-tensioner rather than the manual units found on the M-series.

Widebody: S2 front fenders and Kaze Aerocraft rear fenders (Shineautoproject Replica)

I'd hate to disappoint anybody until it's all on the car. At the moment, it's a pile of parts. Granted, a beautiful pile of parts, but still a pile of parts. It is the world's most expensive car-bed that I'm aware of though. :p Free plug for Shine though, nearly everything I have body-wise that...

Will no radiator shroud cause a problem?

With these cars, any little bit of help you can give them to keep them running cool is worth your effort, so I would suggest running a shroud, *particularly* if you plan to drive anywhere with high ambient temps as Grimjack said. These days, even summer temps in cooler climates are getting warmer...

Looks nicely setup man, but you can't tease this lot with just a couple pictures and not expect to be inundated with questions... :)

    Cell phone thread

Casio G'Zone Brigade here. This thing is a PHONE, which is why I like it. Works well enough to talk, text, and take a note here and there. I have a computer for a reason, and Ipod that's 5 years old now for a reason, a video game system (or two) for a reason, etc... Call me a cranky old man, but...

    Gurren Lagann!!!

HAHAHAHA... yes, that is a ton. Watched all that back in high school if I remember correctly. DB Kai was nice, can watch the whole thing in a couple weeks without spoiling the fun. How it should have been all along if you ask me... Ahhh... MD Geist. GOOD stuff man, I remember renting the VHS...

Whats up Sold supra sad day.

Tell the kid to sell the Supra for whatever he can get for it, buy a Miata, and learn to fucking drive. Not your fault, and also a good reminder to ALWAYS put "sold as is" on the bill of sale to the new owner.

Using a timing light to check distributor pulses?

My extremely limited knowledge of electrical systems would suggest poor insulation somewhere. Last time I saw a distributor, the only insulation on it was that little plastic cap... That would be my *guess*, hopefully someone who knows their electrical voltage from their Mt Dew voltage will...

car alarm wont let car start

But JJ, you have to turn the key in the passenger side, *then* the hatch, and finally in the driver door. Then you have a fully unlocked car. :D :D :D
