    Avatar Thread. Post em up!

I'm with IJ on this one... although wouldn't this thread be a way to track what we've had as avatars as time goes on? Me, I've had the same avatar for YEARS... love the picture too much to part with it.

Benefit of using Coil-Overs VS. Eibach Springs and Tokico TEMS Struts

Yes, you can adjust ride height with coilovers. One of my favorite features actually. Keep it low in the summer, raise it back up in the winter so I don't get high-centered on snow drifts haha!

1JZ wont turn over. Something seems seriously wrong.

I remember reading a good thread on compression testing on here, perhaps someone can dig up a link for you...

    High boost break up

How does the Stinger handle overboost conditions, changing the timing to retard it a ton so you know to back out? I can't see it mechanically fixing the problem, being that it's a computer, but... you have my interest. Oh, and I wonder if the 1zz shares the coils with the 2zz. Never heard of a...

    Its about that time...

Hah, I had a 94 4 door Cavalier with the 2.2L. That thing might as well have been a rally car given how much time all 4 wheels were off the ground. Seriously though, probably the most durable car I've ever had. All that I ever had to do to it was replace the air filter, oil, headlights...

Relocate coolant res near brake master?

I have every intention of making one similar to what you have in mind, with an inspection hole on the side that I can shine a light into and see where the fluid level is. I've seen plenty of cars use old beer/soda bottles, seems to work well enough. :)

    1jz/2jz Exhaust stud fit a 7m ?

Can of PB Blaster goes a looooooong way when it comes to heat-soaked, sometimes baked in/on hardware. Get a couple cans, let it soak into EVERY piece of hardware you plan on removing... repeat the next day, and if you're patient enough, yet again a third day. Has saved me many a broken bolt and...

    bonding with a car.

My old lady is about the same way, but if she were to pull the "car or me" card, my garage would be just as full and my bed a little more empty...

    The knock knock joke thread

I don't think anyone's gonna be able to top that one man... an alternate answer: Rod.

    1JZ-GE Neutralizer Switch

Car won't stay running if it's started in gear, it'll lurch forward (or backward if left in reverse) a bit, get hung up (if you were smart enough to use the parking brake), and stall out. I've just developed the habit of making sure the car isn't in gear when I start it, as I did the same thing...

    High boost break up

Check your spark plug gaps as well. Should be around .028-.030" for our cars. You'd be surprised how far off they can be when they're "pre-gapped".

    FML, as they say

Dingo, you'll have to excuse my drooling over here... paint looks beautiful man. Nice set of wheels and you'd be all set! :)

    Its about that time...

I hear ya on that one dude, I've been a Supra owner for over 5 years now, and only spent maybe a year TOTAL driving anything BUT a Supra. Expensive love, but it's hard to tear yourself away from. Long as you have something that won't bite you with the mod bug, you'll be fine. :)

    SPecial Edition 1987 Turbo ????

I knew what you meant man, just busting your balls. Common now to see 100hp per liter though, at least in sporty cars. I'm looking forward to the days of 200hp/liter... someday. Don't tell Tanya that...

Supras in movies or on TV

Haha, you guys are horrible... but I'm not one to talk. Good find Mike. Was watching the X-files with my girlfriend over the weekend, the episode D.P.O. (season 3, epsiode 3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D.P.O.), there is a nice looking black Mk2 about halfway through, after the crash happens...

    Cup Holders

That looks really good man, and keeps your drinks more or less away from your elbow when you're shifting... Well done! :)

    First car

As a former Camaro (01 Black SS, 6 speed) I can say this much: They're a lot of fun, but handle like crap, drink gas, and never quite run 'right'. They're hard to kill all the way, but all in all... if you're getting it for free, why the hell not? Just be careful, Z28's only had 245's from the...

    bonding with a car.

Hey, I get where you're coming from man. Not so sure about other cars, but I know for a fact that every Supra that I've owned has had more than it's share of personality, and each has been unique. I appreciate them for that, and I treat each one appropriately. Hell, I've brought my current Mk3...

Rich's Garage. Other work being done

I hear ya man, and as much as I agree, space is really the issue with that on my end. Could build my own cabinet easily enough, I already have all the games I could ever want on the Xbox (slightly modded), the tough part (not especially) would be building the cabinet to withstand the weight of...
