Man make sure those lug nuts are of the right thread and depth. My MkIII had the washer kind lug nuts as well, but were the stock ones.
Could the noise be from the tupe of tyre you are running? Some tires make horrible road noise man..

I bought this MKIII with the 1jz, and was running pretty crappy. Previous owner did all the wiring and stuff right, but put in 550's and wired up the injectors by twisting the wires only.Wiring was correct though.
I took em out today and soldereed all the connections and shrink...
Man if the wiring loom is already out of the car, it cannot be that much more work.
Looking at what difference wiring the knock sensors have made for other guys, i'd difinetely ask him to do it..
JUst became one...Haven't reaped the benefits yet..

The engine and wiring is all done, the injectors were cleaned and flowed and then put on ( MkIV 550's),
When I start the car, it starts up fine, but its smell like its gonna kill ya!!. A lot of fuel smell.
It sure is loud without the Exhaust on as well.

Usually overheating during longer trips is a sign of poor circulation.
If you have an old/stock radiator, replace it or have a radiator shop boil it and remove the rust/sand/whatever deposits settle at the bottom.

In the fuse box in the engine compartment, there are some fuses of high amperage. one of those could be out. I believe the one labelled 100A is directly related to ACC power.
Check your radiator as well.
If that radiator is old, chances are over the years, small sediment might have clogged up the tubes. have it boiled out or put a new radiator in if that is the case.

What if the fuse is fine, but the clutch will only engage when I apply direct power to it??
I was refilling the AC but the compressor would not engage. Thought that it was low so it would not let the clutch engage.
I applied direct power and sure enough, the clutch engaged and I was able...
I raced my friends RSX Type S one night on Highway 880 in Hayward.
RSX took of real well, but I caught up to him and took him out on the straightway.
RSX's and Type R's are awesome handling cars and fairly quick btw.
Luckily you were driving a Supra .....looking at the way that spindle broke off, it could have been worse.....Glad you got away with aches and pains only...but that thing will bother you for life....
