get a 1JZ gasket kit. Comes with all gaskets for the motor, including head gasket.

Sounds like an excuse to get a new clutch and pp to me :) (or I guess an auto in your case) If my car can't handle the abuse that I give it, then it must be upgraded. I will not sacrifice my driving for fear of breaking something :)

Probably because the 1G has a 6500rpm redline where as the 1JZ has a 7000rpm redline. I notice that the stock 1JZ tach is really sluggish too. If I hit the rev limiter (7500) in 2nd gear, the tach reads 7k :). I just stopped looking at it, and started shifting when it hit the limiter.

Ok. Crower small core 272 cams on a stock 1JZ. You will lose power below 3500, but once you hit it, torque just flies up, and holds power to over 7k. Here's a dyno I did with stock twins at stock boost with cams, intake, exhaust, and some tuning.

Swap over anything on your old motor that's different on your new motor.

My GT40-88 seems to have much more rotating mass then my two stock CT12As :)
