Probably not although the stuff is pretty tough. Why are you worried about belt contact? Just fasten it with Adel clamps so that can't happen. By baffling I was thinking some sort of metal shield but it sounds like you may not have the room for that.

It's a simple process to meter those devices and pinpoint the problem...

Garage needs one too, preferably of a decent size. I keep a 10 pound 1211 in mine. Btw this would be far from the first guy whose garage burned down because of fuel vapor and a hot water heater. That sort of thing isn't nearly as rare as one would think.

Use of recovered or virgin is OK in the USA but banned in Canada. Manufacture is banned in both places. The stuff is as common as dirt in Mexico.
