    My damn factory alarm...

And from out of left field, another zombie thread! Last post was nearly 6 years sir. Just poking a bit of fun at ya, welcome to SM though. There are a number of sensors that relate to the factory alarm, so the amount of wiring involved doesn't surprise me.

What does the stock hood weigh, and what's the lightest hood available?

The ones that Central Composites is making us weigh 19.8 lbs IIRC. There is also a GB on the Socal Supras forum, there is a thread in Mk3 General from T701JZ that links to it. They seem quite reasonably priced, although I don't know the weight on them.

    Brown and tan leather interior???

It's not horribly common (blue, gray, and burgandy... eww on that last one, were most common), but I've seen a decent number of them pop up on here. Funnily enough, they seem the best cared for in my experience. I've only seen maybe 2 brown interior-ed cars that were neglected and in bad shape...

First time back at the dragstrip.

These weren't even ET Streets Steve, these were full blown slicks. Should have known it was a bad idea when merely letting out the clutch in the gas station parking lot resulted in wheel spin. :p Trailered the car there, and nobody believed me that it might be a good idea to bring along a set...

Tax return; Funds to start shop on the side? Advise within...

Two of the best things I've seen in here so far. Mike's post above mine is well worth considering too. There are about 2 people in this world I would consider entering into a business partnership. Not that I don't like them or get along with them, far from it. It's just that business is a VERY...

    Doomsday Preppers

I want my shark week back... oh well. :p Why would you have groceries delivered in the first place? Go to the store, load up with what you need, park your car in your garage (novel concept that...), close the door before unloading. Now nobody knows what you were out doing... problem solved.

    Another addition to the stable...

Well, keep us posted Emp, I've always had a spot in my heart for old school Japanese cars, they took over when America gave up trying in the early 70's. :p

    i hear crickets...

Eh, I never even bothered with SF to be honest. This place just feels like home, no matter what you drive. That, and the majority of the staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable (many beyond just Supras) about most anything you could think of automotive related. Not to mention, the search engine here...

stock braking distince mk3 turbo version ???nice pic's brake upgrade

All about finding that balance... Now the fun question though: "are bigger (and heavier, speaking strictly of the rotor here) brakes going to require MORE effort to slow than stock?" I plan on running 10.5-11" wheels up front with some 305-315mm tires up front, so there's going to be a lot of...

    Oil Drain Plug Gasket

You should see the Amsoil filter for the 5m/6m... I was concerned it wouldn't even fit it was so big. But, supposedly good for a year or 15k, whichever comes first. :)

    Won't Start

There are a lot of threads relating to the starter relay and related bits. Battery would be my first guess though, also be worth your trouble to check your fuses. ;)

First time back at the dragstrip.

Try driving down the I15 from LVMS on MT slicks in the rain. I wasn't driving, but what an experience! Got about a mile from the track before the thing spun on us. :p

2012 Track Dates and Invitation - MVP Track Time

Absolutely nowhere near me unfortunately, but hopefully at least a few Supra owners can tear it up this year, sounds like fun. Thanks for posting this info. :)

    Did Toyota change the mouldings?

We talking the difference between 87/88 and 89+ side trim mouldings, or something else? If so, the trim on my 89 has a bit of the warpage/separation on the little section on the bottom of the trim. My old 88, with the steel trim, was straight as could be and in good shape.

AFR ratio around 10 under boost?

Pretty normal for stock ecu setups on our cars, leanest my 1j has ever been on stock injectors is around 12.5:1 under a LOT of boost from the stock twins. 15:1 under boost, is, like others have mentioned... dangerous. Lean is mean for a reason, it melts things. ;)

Supra Stables... We Got Them All Over The Place !!!

Still jealous of your "stables"... wouldn't mind a similar setup, but my property isn't exactly huge, so I might have to settle for just a secondary 2-car garage...

    Oil Drain Plug Gasket

Toyota has 2 different sizes of drain plugs. The smaller ones, which you were initially given, are what are used for the majority of their newer engines, JZ's included. However, the M engines used the larger gasket that you got from them. Surprised your parts department didn't know the...

stock braking distince mk3 turbo version ???nice pic's brake upgrade

What sort of braking distance were you looking for? 60-0? 70-0? 100-0?

First time back at the dragstrip.

Oh I believe you Steve (I'd have to be a fool not to haha), like I said, I have minimal experience. I never could get my car to launch on boost, as three-footing it is kinda tricky without inducing wheel spin, so I only have experience launching the car at higher rpm... Seems like the tire flex...

    mk2 1jz

Tyang82, they're also about 500-700 lbs lighter than a Mk3, it doesn't take much to make them quick. ;)
