7M-GTE powered 1977 Celica Liftback, kicking ass

Wonder how all those people feel knowing your car is mostly stock? :p That CTS seemed to be afraid of the fun pedal...

Need smart mk3 supra ppl input on value

Generally I am one to have the opinion that horsepower is like cocaine, there is no such thing as too much... However, if it ruins the balance of the car, AND it's done on a nice car to begin with? That's just a shame.

    Highest HP 1JZ?

Yeah, I get about 4-5 months of good weather, we call it springsummerfall here. It is basically the season where snow is *unlikely* to happen. :p

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Good to know guys, thanks for the info. I have a set of Trico's sitting in the garage, they seem nice. The Bosch ones I put on a couple years ago are still in good shape though. Funny what spending a year in a garage does to the life expectancy of rubber parts... not out in high altitude sun and...

How's everyone doing? Holy crap, It's been awhile. This place still rocks. :)

If you value and appreciate the response of a naturally aspirated engine, I wouldn't recommend rear mounted turbo systems. That is a LONG way (especially on a car that big) for exhaust to travel. Plus, where do they get the intake air from? Under the car is nice and away from engine heat, BUT...

    1972 142s Volvo EXTREME DRIFT!

More than likely a dry sump, yes. What's wrong with that though? I would think that a dry sump would be ideal for a drift car. Worst case scenario, you *are* a fabricator. ;) They also used these engines in a number of cars, although I'm not certain of oil pan orientation. RS200, Altezza, also...

Need smart mk3 supra ppl input on value

Power is all fine and well and all, but sometimes man, there is more to a car than sheer numbers. Balance is something that can't really be quantified. I traded my old 2000 Miata with GS-D3's on it for a 2001 Camaro SS. The Camaro was stupid fast out of the corners (thank you torque) and on the...

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

My guess, the clutch... but the driveshaft might let go too, if it's stock. I don't think I saw what you're running as far as a driveshaft. By the way, I am loving the paint scheme. Who said beige can't bite? :evil2:

Dallas Performance TT Lambo vs DP Procharged Auto Corvette

What was the camera car, and was it really trying? If you're saying the camera car was 800+hp, holy sheeet...

Grim, were you able to get new wiper blades from the dealer? I've always heard that the OEM ones were the best... You've inspired me to clean up and paint a few things on mine once we start tearing into the shell. :)

Bored As All Hell Tell Me What You Think It Will Run Down The 1/4Mile

I wondered the same thing... Dude, I live where it gets WELL into the "spit goes 'tink'" temperatures, and my car has never had a problem getting up to full operating temperature. Might wanna add some troubleshooting that to the list. ;) That said, seems pretty quick...

Long time no see... you know, there is a nice thing that makes v8's better... boost. Get to it, start scaring some AMG's. ;)

Not even gonna sugar coat it. Some pilots are simply badass motherfuckers. :D

Is it just me, or is something snowballing around here? :p Well, you did pretty much triple the torque output that those axles were paired with when the car was built... Welcome to the game of fix what breaks to find the next weakest link. :p

While a 7m is one of (if not the) best sounding motors in my opinion, if I had one of these, I'd be looking for an old Mikuni setup. 4 carbs, header, 8000+rpm in stock form... oh yeah.

    1972 142s Volvo EXTREME DRIFT!

You know... they did use the 3s in the GT500 Supras... they might have a nice oil pan setup. ;)

    Strut Tower Bars...

Ahh yes, the PITA brace... forgot about that one when I had to change out my transmission on the 2000. They're also a lot shorter than our cars, less chassis TO flex, which, to me at least, makes me think such a brace (what FM calls the "butterfly" brace) would have some benefit on a Mk3...
