2010 Toyota Prius brake problems. Easy fix, amazing documentary

That was the best video I've seen in a year. If only I didn't have to wear the uniform at work, I'd be telling this to 4/5 people who come into the dealer. Absolutely insane what people want their cars to do. It just doesn't stop.

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Yeah, not too happy with that, but what can you do? Probably going to start getting stuff placed today, making brackets and such. Might try to get the fuel tank dropped as well. 2 months soaking in penetrating lube *should* have made the nuts a little less likely to strip (I would hope).

New canton adapter is on its way, and I got a new toy from work today! Not many will know what this is, but it's really a full-function Toyota Scan tool adapter. I will never again have to wait for a Techstream scan tool ever again! Only the Masters got them, so I'm feeling better about...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

And the building resumes... Got my oil system in today! Side note: I believe the canton adapter was mis-boxed from the factory, as the threads are too big- see pictures, Pic 1 has the NA oil filter stud upside-down, pic 2 has it right side up! ()% sure this is not 3/4-16, rather, I think it's...

    92nsx's supra build

IMHO... Nickel plated > Chromed I like it without, but if there's any benefit from it then it's a toss-up.

I've got a cold-start timer switch if you need one Rob, but of you go AEM, you won't need it anymore- they have cold-start enrichment tables built in!

I will donate my original "abnormal" Mishimoto for you to mock up new piping with, then. You can even use it if you make custom upper mounts! It is warped, though :( . You and IJ may/may not remember that...

I vote for a new aluminum radiator, Rob. You can even paint it black on the top to look more stealth... Extra cooling capacity is never a bad thing, plus the prices are close to an OEM one.

You are going to want to pre-fill that filter before firing up the engine after any oil change, Rob. But it should have great filter capacity! Me likey.

went to take the diff out and...

Meh, you'll find nothing new there, just a bunch of hamsters in cages. Maybe a gerbil or two.

What drugs/head injury prompted your Username?

lol- this is also a "How did I get my current Job" story, but some will get a laugh out of this. So my parents had a 1993 Toyota Hilux (pickup, pre-tacoma) with a 22R-E engine, and after 120,00 of abuse and neglect, the timing chain broke. Those are interference engines, so when we brought it...

    92nsx's supra build

It's not all bad, Rob. The mani that broke a stud looked to have a nice sized crack in it... Nice to see the engine becoming whole again

Very nice setup you have there. I especially liked watching the PS reservoir move around in the pics :) Great looking car!

    (battery)Starting issues HELP !!!

Have you tested the starter relay? Also, what year is the SC? I'll try to look up a wiring diagram and point out the starter circuit wires you need to test. Edit: Do you have an alarm installed in the vehicle? I've seen alarms (both aftermarket and factory) die when reverse polarity is applied...

Yes they are the same. pm sent!

    Camshaft cover hose.

Yep, that's the one- here a pic of mine, hanging around ;) The strange idle could be caused by the "false air" that's being sucked in to the engine via PCV. It's not being metered by the AFM when the hose crumbles.

    Camshaft cover hose.

It's a crankcase ventilation breather hose. I have a new/slightly used OEM one that I'll be pulling off of my engine very soon if you need a new one.

I didn't know coil packs cost so much

lol, rite-away auto. We use them for cheap-ass insurance companies. They ask for a "used" part price so we call them up and hand it to the insurance company...really good way to sell new parts, I must say.
