Hahahaha! This is how I have to drive too, 4x4 diagonal technique for the win!
OP, sorry to hear of the incident, but I gotta ask, did you not see the thing? I've ran over a few in my time that weren't painted or made noticeable in any other way...
Sounds about right. Unless you're leaving a damned good 60' (and with those tires, I wouldn't get your hopes up TOO much), I say a 13.4 is a realistic time, given the power and gearing. :)
Good luck!
Keep in mind, I doubt many tests of the stock car were using the automatic for acceleration times. ;)
Where's that "careful guys, we got a badass in here" picture when you need it? :p
Seriously though, always better to take your time and do things right.
Uhhh... come again? Wait a minute... do you mean a mechanical boost gauge?
You might look into an AEM serial gauge, but you'll need an AEM ecu to use it.
Actually, strangely enough, I had about 6-8' of line for the last Turbosmart MBC I had (an in-cabin type), and it didn't hit boost cut unless it was really cold out. So, I'm wondering if the longer hose didn't allow enough of a delay to keep the boost from rising too fast.
In other words, with...
All depends on the owner I suppose. I've been using mine as daily drivers for 5 of the last 7 years...
Yeah, mine too. We must have gotten some Celica DNA mixed up in our cars. :p
Eh, at that price, I would rather take away the risk and go with a proven track record. Driftmotion...
Do you have to remove the two screws under the grille? I forget... also, why would you remove the lock bezel? It is only held to the door panel, correct?
For what it's worth, I've never been in a Supra that still had the lock bezels, so... really don't know what they attach to here.
Chevelles or Celicas? The market on a good Celica (rust free, good luck finding one!) seems to be anywhere from 3k to 10k, some lower, some higher to reflect condition.
As for the Chevelles, I'm sure we've seen the market peak on those. I doubt you'll see those as 6 digit cars anymore, the guys...
I would like to argue with you, but you're probably right. I know my 88 had one when I owned it (was in good condition too!), but I don't know about the 87...
I see cocaine sales have gone through the roof in Idaho... :p
Where is said R33 though?
Not going to lie, as cool as that would be, I'm not really sure that is as much an upgrade as it sounds like. The LS1 is put in everything for a pretty good reason, and you're not avoiding the underlying...
The way I see it, you have a couple options:
-put in a new clutch (a cheapish one) that will last you until the end of the year (or however long you need it to), and drive VERY reservedly, or...
-spend the money now for a proper clutch that will handle the torque you're putting out.
Buddy of...
Kinda looks like an NSX at that angle...
You would like it. :p
Your idea makes me think... AW11 style MR2 would be the overall look?
Hmm, I honestly think that the hatch itself offers next to no structural rigidity, but where the 3/4 windows attach, the loss of that might not be helping...
I think I might not have been very clear with what I meant. I was saying that a bellhousing at the very best is only going to mean the difference of how far the shrapnel goes into your leg. ;)
Dammit... I think I have another thing to add to the list. Just in case, cause you know... I like my...
There is a 77 Celica in the other cars section that you may be interested in... he has since swapped to a Holset (IIRC), but he was making some impressive times on the CT.
Welcome to Supramania James. We also have a pretty nice Other Cars section in off topic with a pretty wide variety of odd cars. Some with Supra engines, some with Toyota engines, some completely unrelated, but still cool (like my Chevy for example). Anyway, enjoy your stay here. :)
