Stuff is happening! My brakes have arrived and they are freakin huge!
My turbo is also being sent out for a billet compressor wheel upgrade, as well an extra 3mm ;) I finally get my 64mm turbo, and it'll be billet nonetheless!
I would suggest polishing the check valve, you could get those clamp covers that look like AN fittings and you keep the stock check valve functionality!
I would go -8 for the PCV system, btw. More flow = win in the PCV. Be sure to plumb it correctly so it actually works, too!
Sounds like you're dealing with a idle air control motor that's not closing enough! Pull it off, and pull it apart and clean it very well until it moves smoothly. Use new gaskets and make sure there are no vacuum leaks. I had that issue and this is what fixed it!

2004+ Avalon rims are OK, but they're only 17x7 for the most part. Look into Toyota rims, most are 5x114.3, have the proper hub center diameter, and use the same lug nuts as the mk3. I used 2 for the rears on my car for a time just to get better width in a 17". Just my .02

From my experience, if there is air in the lines leading from the heater core, it will not flow. Once the coolant fills the pipes it should not stop flowing. Why your car would empty the heater lines when cold is a mystery, but there is definately air in the system which is mucking about with...
