Some new stuff to report!
Car has been driving nicely and hasn't given me any major trouble :D
Tune seems solid enough, although pretty rich and non-optimized when in boost. Cruise AFR's are much better than they were, and my economy is coming back (as long as I don't step down often :P )...
About the wiring- I am running a 8AWG amp wire that splits to 2 12awg wires (and seperate relays triggered by the stock wiring) feeding each pump with an 8gauge ground wire for my a aeromotive 340 pumps! Overkill- maybe, but fuel pumps love good clean battery voltage and you're choking them by...
eh, not anything to write home about, but it was progressive in how it went from free when I stopped it to a fair pull when I let it go. I'd do the T-stat first and foremost since its stupid easy to do. If it went over in 2 miles it could be a 20 minute affair to know if it was the t-stat. If it...
Hood space- no prob.
QSV- may interfere with the wastegate location.
What size turbo are you thinking of using? to be honest, this manifold gave me so much more as far as spool is concerned- 5000rpm on the stock manifold and a boss sr (.83 a/r), 4000 on this tubular and a .81 T4. It also...
I'm still thinking t-stat, but the excess heat may have caused additional damage. (bhg, cracked something, etc)
Try this: new t-stat from Toyota and see if it still spits coolant. Run the car from cold and have a funnel on the radiator and watch for excessive or fine bubbes. My wife's 95...
Not sure on Microtech, but I know that with my AEM if I didn't have a resistor wired in and I used low-resistance injectors that it would fry the drivers in the box. You may want to check with Microtech to see if they integrate it or if you need to wire one in! (sorry, not a JZ expert by any...
Here ya go- pipe thread (like the end going into the AL turbo flange) needs thread sealer for it to not leak.
The hose end fitting needs no thread sealer at all, it just needs the proper torque be applied to seal properly- no gaskets or sealers at all! If the flare fitting still leaks, then you...
I think he's dealing with the spark plug valley cover bolts. They are a 14mm inverted hex- and yes, you can pull them without touching the HG. Just be sure to put sealer on the threads before you torque it back down or they can leak oil.
Edit: just for clarification, this pic has one of the...
I think these work out nicely with spacing and such...
F- 18x8 +38, 10mm spacer, 235-40-18 Mich Pilot Sport A/S
R- 18x9 +38, no spacer 275-35-18 Hankook Ventus V12 EVO
RPM 505 rims, spaced in front 'cause they hit the ARZ brakes. Not doing spacers for the stance/look/whatever, they were...
Woot! Jeremy- I'm going to have to give you a ride in my car...it'll make you want 3 things: 1- More power, 2- Manual swap done, 3- new pants
Edit: 4 things- #4: E-85
LOL, its called toyota's ACIS (acoustic control intake system), which similar to toyota's TVIS (Toyota variable intake system). It's designed to give better low-end torque by seperating the two intake tracts, then better high rpm flow by opening up. Lots and lots of them are bound up with sludge...
Hmm, no Toyota dealers local to you? You can squeak by with a Tundra plug- K20R-U. Not 100% right, but better than a bosch x(
Wayzhack- Just go to a dealer local to you and order them up. Bring your VIN number cause they'll want it, but the VC gskets aren't that spendy. 100% chance they'll have...
Wow, these pumps are awesome! I've only gotten the boost up to 22lbs, but damn it pulls hard. So hard, that I need new tires to not burn them from a roll-on!
Power goal is somewhere in the 600-700 range, but I'm not actually shooting for a number- just trying to see what the setup will do...
