Where do these gaskets go? (pic)

Hello all,

I have a few gaskets remaining from my engine overhaul gasket kit (Jobber brand), that neither I nor my engine rebuilder ended up using. I was just wondering where they go. Who knows, one of them might be the answer to the oil leak I have been trying to locate all week long. Here they are:

#1) Thick rubber. From the top of my head, could be AFM?
#2) Compressed fiber. No clue!
#3) Rubber & Fiber composite. I can see it in the EPC Engine overhaul gasket kit, but still no clue.
#4) Round rubber wire. No clue!
#5) Accordeon folded metal. I'm thinking downpipe somewhere.

1 afm gasket for the honeycomb end.
2 is for the y pipe on top for the n/a
3 is for the y pipe to manifold on n/a
4 i dont think is for the 7m at least i dont ever remember seeing that except in a gasket kit.
5 is for the 2 into 1 exhaust gasket on the n/a

4 is the gasket that is right on top of the intake manifold right by the throttle body of the N/A. i rebuilt my N/A last year http://i40.tinypic.com/33lnqxz.jpg see the rectangle?

yup its the big plate on top of the manifold. Iirc it has phillips screws on it.

Damn dont think i have ever taken that thing off before.

yes, this year im 7mgte. i love it, but yeah it was a pain to remove the screws but it helps out to clean the inside of the manifold

Ya but theres really no reason to take it off unless you want to clean the inside.

lol I know. I tried taking it off once on my DD. strip the heads even with an impact screwdriver, I was like fuck it, I dont even care anymore.

Impact screwdriver should take it off no prob. That and pb blaster.

Oh lol. For those things ive found out its better to have a nice one with a good tip then the cheap one.

i had that problem, i just kept tapping it with a hammer then i used the impact screw driver and it came right out nice and easy

Yeah, but that's regular maintenance, vs. screws that haven't been touched since Reagan was president.

LOL, its called toyota's ACIS (acoustic control intake system), which similar to toyota's TVIS (Toyota variable intake system). It's designed to give better low-end torque by seperating the two intake tracts, then better high rpm flow by opening up. Lots and lots of them are bound up with sludge and carbon and that kind of gunk. I've driven an NA supra before cleaning when it was seized and after, and it made a minor (but noticeable) difference.

Sorry the screws didn't come out for ya, that kinda sucks
