You need to make a patch harness and add a few more wires.. It goes from batch injection to sequential injection, and also will allow you to run up to a 680CC injector (if you follow the rule of 1.5 x stock injector size) with a piggy back. It unfortunately drops the rev limit to 6800.
130ish...
I will be sure to check it against a mech gauge. Was it 15psi up or down?
They are the stock 1jz and aristo clips. The 550s will fit, need to do shave the nubs off IIRC.
125 was the theoretical limit of a 1jz, 26" tall tires, 4.30 gears and a r154 tranny in 4th gear. New setup will have 28" tall tires, should be around 132/3 with a lower rev limit (aristo ecu)
Made a decision, buying a JGS wastegate next paycheck. I just bought (from Driftmotion) an AFPR kit for the 1jz, 10 new exhaust studs (I need 2 bolts instead of studs for my manifold due to clearance) and 6 new injector clips to make wiring in the resistor box easier.
I am going to run my 550s...
More stuff ordered. Since the last update, I have ordered a new turbo blanket and an injector resistor box. Thinking of switching away from the XSpower wastegate and going with a JGS wastegate. A lot of domestic guys have luck with the JGS units. Still figuring out what to do about a BOV, if...
I am supprised to see that people are spooling so late with the hx35 on a 1jz. I have a friend that is running a HY35 on a 2jz, and seeing full boost (12psi for now) before 3k.
I figure that if I do it myself (or subcontract a friend, heh), I can tuck it up nice and neat. Besides, there is a part of my exhaust that comes about 2" from the ground now. Stupid bend...
Just paid for some 550s, the only thing I need to purchase now is new exhaust tubing and some IC piping. Thinking about doing a 3.5" catback and having my wastegate recirculated.
USDM 550s will fit in the rail, you just need to run a resistor. Nice setup, I have been building something like this for a little while now. When do you get full boost?
