I meant swapping out the A343 valve body and just using the Volvo transmission controller to operate it. I'm still building a trans controller - but it might be easier for some people to do a plug & play job instead of building one and programming the AVR (i could offer it as a kit i guess)...

TC is Torque Converter, Accumulator is....line pressure? But what is LP? Trying to figure out what MOSFET's i need to drive from the MCU, and what switching speed!

23 I/O channels including the 6 PWM channels...how many are you using 3? I know solenoids 1 & 2 are standard, but are 3, 4 & 5 (including the TC Lockup) all PWM?

Yep - ATMega168 MCU has six PWM channels :)

Aaaah - thanks for clearing that up Ian! I'm about to embark on a project in that case, bring on the microcontroller (going to MAKE a programmable transmission controller to fit in stock location). This is a custom controller based on an ATMega168 in a MS65 Crown + A340E...

A few question's, Ian - what is the line pressure cable there to 'do' exactly, just regulate fluid flow? If you either a) remove it, or b) set the cable to a fixed position - what'd happen? Also - the 343 valve body - i'm guessing that no Toyota that came with an A343 had a separate ECU for...

Yeah, shortly after posting this, i found that, looks like they're GTE cams, the lobes are perfectly within spec, towards the high end of spec, but the cam bearings aren't. 26.93mm, 26.75mm, 26.85mm, 26.89mm, 26.90mm, 26.82mm & 26.70mm from #7 to #1 - wtf?

Done the same way as the TechTom? As in CPU removed, inserted into daughterboard w/external ROM, daughterboard soldered to ECU?

Waiting on parts to arrive in about 2 weeks to get any further in the build. But for now, i've dug out a set of 7M cams that were in my shed - covered in crap, cobwebs & no doubt home to some creepy crawlies. After 2 hours with a green scourer, some fuel, a toothbrush and some 800 & 1500 grit...
