But you maybe in the same boat with a few bucks light. Like somebody else said I think it was Homer, if the crank is still good it would maybe be worth the $200, I'd ask why the crank was out.
Definatly check the timing with a light and the jumper wire. You probably need to top off the coolant and check tension on the belts. Just standard stuff when you rebuild.
Jdub beat me to it :)
You are looking at a complete rebuild, at least that's what I'd figure with a BHG. The head maybe warped frome overheating, no way telling how bad without checking it. It's a crap shoot basically, he can tell you anything but without tearing it down you won't know.
I think for all around use KYB's are a good choice, I've had mine on for a while now and like them. I could really say if Koni's are better but I've heard you pay for the name.
I think they are talking about the main caps IDK for sure though. The GTE and GE blocks are the same except the oil squirters I believe right or wrong IJ? Well maybe a return line for the turbo, the oil filter I think is different.
You don't need high quality pics to see that damage. Your're going to have to take it all apart and check the bearings they have to be bad by the looks of your HG, looks to me like it's been going on for a while.
Could be that, I noticed it on another thread that the OP had conected the grounds that were supposed to go to the intake manifold, connected to the starter. It wouldn't be the first time:)
